OT: A-EON and Hyperion should take a look at Varisys website: this is a professional site!

Absolutely cool, I remember there was a talk about them a while ago (a thread saying they were probably the ones?)

@Tomppeli
On their product page, the only CPU that accepts more than 1GB (X1000 will have 2GB default but it has 4 sockets the "2" choice is probably dictated by the fact that at the moment Aos doesn't use more than that) is this:

http://www.mil-embedded.com/products/search/fm/id/?34789

Which is a G5 class processor if I'm not mistaken (I even heard in an old thread that when put at the same clock speed this is actually faster than a G5).

Are we onto something?

@Bushy

Why is there no news of this on the Varisys website?

Spread the word.

In most cases "partnership" is PR speak for "small company buys something from bigger company. Bigger company agrees to be featured in PR piece". You can see it everyday when you browse computer-related news. If AEon would hire us to do their website I would write about it, I don't think AEon would. That's the food chain.

But they may have real partnership (remember Amiga, Inc's partnership AKA "buy SDK for $100, get pen, call it partnership with Sharp"?) and if they do (I'm thinking: lower prices, shorter deadlines) I wouldn't really care for PR. It's the outcome that's important. And if X1000 will hit big, Varisys will be first to claim some fame -- "we build that!".

It is (some variant of) a PA6T!

Even more likely now since Varisys has produced products with that chip.

But you would write about them in the 'Clients' (or similar) section of your website and not announce it as a partnership which is a complete different thing.

@andres

I don't agree. Their website requires Flash to be installed, something not available to many office computers.
Replace the flash parts and you have a nice site.

@AmigaBlitter

Then X1000 will be military spec? Maybe that is the main target market and the Xmos chip is used to control rockets, missile, tanks......
