| When I switch the power button from my tower the monitor stays with orange light until I push reset and then I can see the monitor giving blue light. The orange indicates that the monitor is off and the blue just the opposite that is the monitor staying on.
When this happened yesterday if I remember well I believed that my Amiga One was in problems again.
I think that this is very annoying.
Can anyone help me to find out what's the problem?
And I noticed a lot of lockups when playing or starting to play Alien Blaster a game from the OS4depot.

I get this most days with my A1. All I do is turn my monitor off and then on. It comes up with workbench, with a message saying it is in analog mode. From then on everthing isfine. _________________ Peter Swallow. A1XEG3-800 [IBM 750FX PowerPC], running OS4.1FE, using ac97 onboard sound.

| @newlight We now have a problem with people talking about "Amiga Ones" (esp at the moment) as some may wrongly think you are talking about the AmigaOne-X1000
How about "AmigaOne Classic"? or "Eyetech AmigaOne"? ("Terron AmigaOne" wouldn't mean much to most people). Anyone got any other ideas? _________________

AmigaOne-SE AmigaOne-XE AmigaOne-X1000 ?
Don't see any problems with naming. Last edited by raumfahre on 01-Feb-2012 at 11:16 PM.

| Why should people relabel a machine they've called the A1 for years? Most people are calling the new machine an A1X1K or X1000. We already have a perfectly good short hand label for this new machine, no reason to introduce confusion. _________________

Can anybody answer to my question?
I think is important to boot my AmigaOne directly at first time. _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

It's an odd behaviour if your A1-XE is consistently needing to be reset after switch-on.
Have you checked all the obvious; Graphics card seating, unplug, clean and replace. Video cable to monitor, it's securely connected at both ends. UBoot settings.

As posted above, have you tried turning the monitor off/on instead of your A1? _________________ Peter Swallow. A1XEG3-800 [IBM 750FX PowerPC], running OS4.1FE, using ac97 onboard sound.

Last time I tried the reset button doesn't work anymore.
I am thinking about selling it.
What do you think about it?
I hope the Amiga One X1000 doesn't have problems and the freezes that my Amiga One has in the more than 5 years of use I have been using it. _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

Don't forget the new ACube AmigaOne 500.
The new machine is known mostly as X1000 or X1K.
Or as I would call my collection. I have an A1 and an X1. Last edited by Hypex on 11-Feb-2012 at 04:00 PM.

I had similar problems with my Peg-2 and it turned out to be the CPU card. It was warped/bent due to a heavy heatsink that over many years "warped" the cpu module circuit board.
I have since removed the heavy heatsink and put on a lighter one, and the problem is "mostly" gone, - the machine works most of the time, but I still sometimes have the machine totally lock up, or it won't reset a second time when I press the power button. There is still some warpage on the CPU card circuit board (it sits vertically with no stands - too bad they were never supplied by bplan - it would have prevented this problem).
Now, your A1's CPU card sits horizontally but it wouldn't hurt to carefully make sure it is seated properly. Over time it could work its way partially out of the socket. Also while you are in there check your heatsink/fan.

I am not talking about the reset button on the case, try the monitor.
When, because of the hardrive lights etc, you think your A1 should be booted, and you still have a black screen, don't turn the A1 off, turn the monitor off then on.
I get symptoms similar to yours, all the lights have done there bit, my fans are going etc, at that point I turn my monitor off then on, and the display comes up in analog mode and everything is fine. The A1 has booted correctly but the signal (?) from the A1 does not trigger the monitor, turning the monitor off/on sorts it out._________________ Peter Swallow.
