If only I could understand Italian

But I really hope they use a new naming convention, instead of copying the past. I dont like them "plus" models. It's a bad idea to make small improvements to a product, and call it something a tiny bit different...bahh

@AmigaBlitter

Seems that the Amiga compatible tablet is for real - https://acube-systemsbiz.serversicuro.it/shop/en/66-trust-slimline-sketch-tablet-8713439164473.html

@drHirudo

I dont think it is a tablet in the iPad sense. It appears to be simply a drawing pad that is supported on AmigaOS systems using SketchBlock.

@drHirudo

Not quite the 'tablet' (computer form factor) that I had in mind though when I followed your link unfortunately.

AmigaOS has supported graphics tablets for almost 20 years.

Tecnically it's supported by the UCLogicTablet.usbfd driver. And thus by any program that supports tablets. (inc ImageFX, ArtEffect etc)

SketchBlock works with any tablet that is added to the system via the NEWTABLET events. Some older serial drivers are said to work (but the hardware is rare these days) and ofcourse my UCLogic Driver supports some more modern usb tablets.

"There will be a AmigaOne 500 plus, it will be much faster"

Hints towards a change of SoC. APM86190 ??

"maybe a new notebook for AOS4"

That's old "news". But perhaps ACube plays a role in the distribution ...

btw..
"Si esatto, è una evoluzione dell'attuale AmigaOne 500, come avvenne anche all'epoca dell'Amiga 500 ed Amiga 500+
Un eventuale portatile non è stato ancora definito, non vedrebbe cmq la luce del giorno a breve, e se la scelta dipendesse solo da me, NON opterei per una CPU della APM, ma cmq sono solo speculazioni..."

etc.... I hope we see some english press release soon...

Maybe on Malta?

There's no press release even in italian, it's just a forum post. There are no hints about possible improvements, apart from what some users are speculating about what they've seen at that fair, and Acube's guys are just talking about generic improvements, without details.

Quick translation: "Right, it's an evolution of the current AmigaOne 500, just like it happened back in the day with the Amiga 500+ over the Amiga 500.
The possibility of a notebook is not defined yet, it wouldn't see the light anytime soon thou, and if i'd be the only one in charge i WOULDN'T choose an APM CPU, but it's all speculation..."

This sentence means that the plus version is an evolution of the AmigaOne 500 just like happened in the past with the move from Amiga 500 to Amiga 500+.

If i recall well there was a chipset upgrade only, with the possibility to use 2 MB chip ram. Maybe is a refresh of the video card only?

@AmigaBlitter

The A500+ name to me indicates that it's only a small update. Hopefully a really usable onboard gfx chip and a bump in speed (overclock + active cooler?).

I'd like to get more news on the notebook stuff though.

I didn't enter into the Beta-Test program and told Trevor to not send me the first early-bird boards, because I wanted to have a later board with more features (bugs fixed etc).

When I receive it, I won't upload ultra-high res 1024p videos in 3D though. Even if I have the equipment now, YouTube kicked me out of the partner program and I lost interest in creating and uploading videos. The partners can upload high-res videos, but when I am not, they will reduce the quality.

Currently I am coding 8-bit games in C on my microA1, where the speed is more than enough.

Thanks for people for the italian-english conversion.

A lot seem to be open for the A500+ info.
Perhaps:
-GPU change
-CPU change/overclock
-some acceleration stirring on the FPGA

(I would love to see the GPU to be replaced with:
-SAM440 audio design
-SATA controller, freeing PCIex1
-M9 or better onboard if onboard GFX is the thing for A500series
(Mobility Radeon 4860 would be ok))

Looking forward to a press release.
