There was a release of Ubuntu in some alphaversion for SAM460 last autumn if i recall correctly!
Hower, now Ubuntu is up to 13.04. Does anyone know if there's some news regarding newer versions of Ubuntu on SAM? Or a more "full" version of the one the were relased - IE words from Acube or other devs?

@morpa

I have not done anthing with Linux on the Sam's for a while as the current kernels dont support my preffered radeon HD 6670 video cards.

It was possible to install the original Ubuntu from the cd image on Acube's website and upgrade the installation, I managed to get it up to version 11.04.

virgolamobile managed to get up to version 12.04.
Wonder if he manged to upgrade beyond this ?

It only works with a Radeon HD 4000 series card.
You also need to update the kernel from version 11.04 onwards,
Also the original installation can trash your OS4.1installation.

This is how I managed to get the initial install done.

nope, you managed to install 11.04 packages on an old kernel. You can't update the kernel as long as you don't compile it yourself with the Sam patches, drivers and modules. Unless you had access to acube's ressources, but i doubt they ever compiled a kernel for 11.04/

@SoundSquare

Pre compiled Kernel obtained from here .
http://www.locati.it/mario/sam460/squeeze/#kernel
To go beyond 11.04 you have to boot with the newer kernel
Once you have install the modules for the newer kernel on your Linux partition
