Hi,
We really appreciate all the work you do... Thank you.
I'm using the linux-2.6.9-064.img, do I have to use the adjusted version you did in order to use the latest kernel you just release?
Bye!

| You have not enabled the test agpgart driver?
in the command prompt type
modconf
then select 'char/agp'
then select ' articias-agp'
or
modprobe articias-agp
then edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 and the line
Load "dri"
Give me your full dmesg output, you are missing vital info from this list!
Thanks

| Yes, between me and geri we are trying to get the 3d driver to work.
But a few problems have a risen!
Namely the northbridge not doing cache-coherency!!!!!!! - so aperture allocation cannot be done with BAT type commands. We are working on a workaround.

Cool.
btw, does this kernel have support for the SiI3112 SATA card?

| Hi,
3D will not work, it is just for testing only.
With DRI on, does X still load? or does it just crash after a few minutes?
Does X work with DRI off?
Thanks

Maybe we should compile in the debug output!? Could be useful...
I see that you changed the aperture SIZE_MASK to 0x9 (instead of 0x7). Are you trying to force the aperture size to a specific value?

I got problems with adapted 2.4.26 kernel. It says "unresolved symbols in... " with almost all modules. DMA I haven't tested yet. _________________ A1200T, A4000 Mirage pro, mAmigaOne C, LAN. |

| Hi Fabio,
Make sure you update your kernel boot partition (i.e /boot or a specific partition) with the supplyed kernel, and update the /lib/modules aswell!
Otherwise you will get unresolved module errors!

| Hello,
This test module is only for people who have a AGP card and not the built in video card/chip!

| Hi geri,
Yes, because as we know, we have no control over the aperture size i.e no bios front end to set aperture size!

Maybe we should compile in the debug output!? Could be useful...
I see that you changed the aperture SIZE_MASK to 0x9 (instead of 0x7). Are you trying to force the aperture size to a specific value?

I think we can set the aperture size in the device init routine, which detects the ArticiaS chipset. IMHO the SIZE_MASK should stay 0x7, because it is also used to mask the AGP TLB base address, which would be masked incorrectly with the current setting! A simple PCI write byte access should do the trick. _________________
