| With the pre-release of OS4 now being sent out, the postal workers who deliver to AmigaONE owners should be cautious about us snarling at them. I suggest we manipulate this picture to illustrate the situation. (OS4 logo on the boxes maybe.)
It's been on Something Awful's Comedy Goldmine, but they have adult banner ads, so I won't link to them here.
Alternative interpretation of the image is that that dog is holding up our pre-release. |

Don't mention the post to me. I'm a diabetic using an insulin pump, which nearly 3 weeks ago gave me a low battery warning (not good when your life depends on it), so I rang the hospital who sent some replacement batteries first class, and when they didn't arrive they sent some more.
3 weeks later I'm still waiting, and spent 3 hours in accident and emergency at the local hospital on Friday night.
Royal mail have had 2 emails and, today, one very irate caller on to them. (Oh - and I'm not feeling at all well, ATM) _________________ Plugged into a computer 24/7 (literally). I am Borg - you will be assimilated. Resistance is futile. |

There's another good reason for not going with the pump, I guess..
I'm more of a syringe man myself, as I don't like having things attached to me. Never tried the pump though, but I did use a sort of "button" (don't quite know any medical term for it, nor how to properly label it in english) a bunch of years back. It's a plastic tube that you insert with a needle, then remove the needle, and voilá, you have an instand "docking station" for a syringe.
Maybe it was just psychosomatic, but I could never get rid of the feeling that there was something lodged just under my skin, and it bugged the hell out of me. So I've been happily using needles ever since. While a pump might be beneficial since I don't really eat very regularly, thus ending up having to take several small injections every day, I'm still not too keen on the idea of having stuff jammed into me.
And I'd never trust the post with anything other than recipes in this respect.
But that's just me. _________________ A1G4XE, OS4-pre |

Australian posties have other hazards to be wary of . . . . than just dogs! Magpies Behaving Badly Quote:
Dr Jones' field surveys found that, contrary to popular belief, only about 12 per cent of all male magpies will actually attack people. Of these, about half will attack only pedestrians, 10 per cent go exclusively for postal workers on bikes, eight per cent will attack bicyclists, and the remaining third will attack any of these. |

the "button" would be a canula - and is much the same way that a pump attaches. It can be removed for short periods, if required (bath, exercise, sex etc..).
As for "Why" I use the pump - simple, injections don't work for me. With MDI (Multiple Daily Injections) I get swings in BGs from 1.9 - over 30 mmol. On the pump I'm fairly stable at about 8-9 mmol. _________________ Plugged into a computer 24/7 (literally). I am Borg - you will be assimilated. Resistance is futile. |

I had also tried, with the same result. I would send him a cheque, but, ermm, (topic) I can't be sure he'd get it?!? _________________ Plugged into a computer 24/7 (literally). I am Borg - you will be assimilated. Resistance is futile. |

| @GadgetMaster,
Haw! Haw!
. . . but, the question remains, how compatible is the pre-release with this? And, tell me that the mugger didn't end up with a fetus when he ran off with this mailsack? _________________ -vortexau, who's A1 XE-G4 remains at half-RAM ! | The WARNING goes out in the classical world where A1 owners dwell:

| The WARNING goes out in the Brisbane north coast area where at least one A1 owner* dwells:

Is that what you kids call it today, eh?

Yeah, well, that too, removing it and reinserting it over and over..just sticking with the syringes seems quite the same, except you just have to do with the needle then.

Don't get technical with me, lad!
Well, it obviously has its benefits. It's not for me though.. But, just a thought, why don't you keep a spare syringe with a few needles around just in case?
Me, I can't have lunch if I forget to take my insulin with me when I leave for work, which has happened once or twice (ehrm)... So I just keep a spare one in a refridgerator at work, to play it safe._________________ A1G4XE, OS4-pre |
