@Miffy "...Lando claiming that the (unproven as yet) "buggy" A1XE is a dead duck..."
Being an A1XE owner and operator myself, I have had my fair share of problems and misunderstandings with my AmigaOne but I would never label the motherboard as "buggy" or a "dead duck."
What is really sad is that I (and every other Earlybird A1 owner) have been requested to remain silent on the specifics. As everyone knows, there are a few problems left to be resolved but nothing remotely approaching a stop shipment or recall status. I would have prefered open forums so that everyone could help flush out problems and find solutions but the destructive vocal minority has made sure that will never happen.
Please don't take this the wrong way. But let's not start another sub-thread on 'Which is more an 'Amiga', the AmigaOne or the Pegasos'?
As you say, "Well thats because its a propaganda war." And as I said at A.org, 'The sooner we stop these pointless arguments (or "propaganda war"), the better'. There will never be consensus. This "propaganda" only serves to further enflame the mob mentality of any given 'faction' in the "'Amiga' Community".

If you look on the "what is a true Amiga" thread you will see Lando claiming that the (unproven as yet ) "buggy" A1XE is a dead duck, but in contrast the Pegasos1 ( PROVEN AND ADMITTED TO BE buggy ) is a marvel of engineering!
I know... it's kinda like the old saying "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

I wonder, if technicians that built Amiga add on Apollo accelerator boards made a Intel based PC running AROS if hed say that has more "Amiga spirit" and be more "custom" than one made by Dell running AROS.
Its an example of the selective myopia that exists at the moment. .
Yeah. And I agree with what you are saying there. Since MOS only uses Open Firmware, then it will not run on any other solution that may use a different rom solution like U-Boot, thus making the MOS/Pegasos solution about as much of a dongle as U-boot on AmigaOne...
And personally, OF is not very user friendly from my experience. You boot into the firmware and it drops you at a "cli type" prompt (has anyone come up with an interface for this yet???). To the average person, that is very intimidating. Then you have to know the specific commands to issue to make any changes. But the U-boot menu is straight forward and intuitive, thanks to the guys at Hyperion.
