I'm an amateur at Amigas, I have a 3000D that I love and I have a 2500 I'm restoring. I have one Amithlon PC, a PIII 550 with 256mb ram. A little measly, but it ticks over just fine. I am a fan of the Morph OS efforts, I think it makes more sense than OS4, but OS4 is very cool all the same.
