this time the installer should work for amigans. The game will not be playable yet (AFAIK), but we are hoping to rectify this soon.

Please test for us, that the installer is sound now

Cheers.

we need A1, micros, pegasos 2(os4.1) (and even try it on Morph if youd like) sams, A1200 and a4000 running OS4 classic

thank you again for testing.

http://web.aanet.com.au/BlitterWolf/downloads.html

you may need to be patient and wait like 30minutes for it to update in real time over the server, as for some reasons my ISP is giving me problems ATM.

(OLD NOW)
Dear Amigans,

I did not know how to edit an old threads Title, so apologies in Advance to the Moderators.

We would like to get some Betatesters involved for the recent StarGus upload.

You can find it here :

http://web.aanet.com.au/~BlitterWolf/download.html

If you would like a small history of information, just click onto our home page.

One no longer requires the Stratagus engine.

Can you please tell me your errors.Or email us AT :

blustreak@aanet.com.au

Alpha stage was not good, so Im hoping Beta stage gives us Better results with its errors.

Cheers.

P.S. One can also Download three StarGus Wallpapers from our site, for those that are interested.

@wawa

Sorry, I explorer is the crapest browser out there on the windows platform.

But atleast it worked for you.

try Firefox, Opera or chrome.

As for IBrowse, I made this original site and tested it orignaly in IBrowse. So it should all work. It also worked fr my friends A1, and he still uses IBrowse over OWB. Dont ask me why.

thank you for testing though and being determined to get it downloaded.

Cheers.

Despite people recommending it I have problems with FireFox. My friend Merv says it crashes it Mac. And I don't use it on mine constantly, Safari is good enough. Sometimes I use it and find it's a bit big and slow.

But on x86 Ubuntu Linux I tested it on it was unstable as. And I thought FireFox was written for x86 Linux. At least it's the default browser in Ubuntu, for some reason in PPC Linux they can't put it in with official name. When I've used it in Ubuntu I go to a menu or click a link and it just crashes. It disappears, like programs do on OSX or MOS when they crash. Except my Mac gives me a crash report, unlike Linux and MOS when they crashed in front of me.

Come to think of it, it's predecessor Mozilla was quite unstable on my Debian PPC A1 Linux. It would stop working and I always had to reinstall it. Oh the days of apt-get'ing on the command line. Perhaps that's why people think it's secure, every time a hacker tries to get it prevents them with a crash!

Lucky for your friend Safari is good enough to use.

for linux and windows users, they have a multitude of browsers they can choose from, if they do not wish to use their native browsers.

Amiga users now have a few browsers, two of which are able to display most modern websites. unless they need Gnash, which is currently still under development AFAIK.

OWB and Netsurf.

So there's nice new site there. Was there also a new beta version of Stargus uploaded to the site?

Windows users also have another choice. Safari! So now Mac users can run the Mac browser on whatever OS they are using on their Intel.

If it's anything like iTunes it might not be a proper looking Windows app. And probably will make Windows look like a Mac.

Then again unlike OS4 an older Windows program running on a new Windows still looks old. I don't get that. What the programmer has to program his own Windows? IMHO all windows should look the same. If there is an older Windows API it should just wrap to the new one, not waste an effort making things look old and inconsistent. But that's how Windows works.

To original StarCraft was an excellent game.
Even after years its still one of the most fun team playing games.

Getting this game to run on AOS 3 would be very great.

I wanted to try your port out but somehow could not download the LHA.
Did your remove or rename the file?

I have a question:
I've once tried Stargus on Windows.
The game worked - but something were not right.
For example UNITS could move through water.
Was this a hickup on the version that I tried or is this flaw also in the AMIGA Stargus version?

Cheers

Actually it can. Except you need to drag the files off a PC to play it. The install tool doesn't work. I know exactly why.

Try again in the Downloads page. I tested it with OWB and it could download.

It depends on the version. It's built on the last version produced. So if it wasn't fixed then it will show up unfortunately.

Unless you like your units to walk on water.

@Gebrochen

something is screwy with the link. It doesn't go through with chrome either.
http://web.aanet.com.au/~BlitterWolf/download.html

the fist part will take you to aanet.com but the /~BlitterWolf/download.html brakes the directory. Is it a log in issue?

I googled it and got to it: http://web.aanet.com.au/~BlitterWolf/

cheers!

I know what's wrong. Google is out of date!

For some reason the Google engine hasn't updated it's search engine. Infact if you go to cached link it will work. And in IBrowse too.

But here is the proper link.

You might as well use it. The next version is likely to be a fully working release! We are that close now.

Sorry but the installer does nothing except create a directory, nothing else copies. I am trying to load manually following the install script, will let you know the outcome.

@acefnq

Just in case, try downoading Stargus.lha again in 12 hours, I have a hunch my ISP didnt refresh my Upload from PFTP. Just like when i changed the IE browser text, it took half a day to update it.

I willneed to look into this wih my ISP, i cant even use YAMbecause of them. another guy I now is having the sae problems with his PC. except, we are both being forced to use webmail atm.

If things dont improve, I may need to look into going with someone else. ISP wise ofcourse.
