MindGUI - Experimental visual/graphic Reaction GUI designer for OS4.
Creates simple Reaction interfaces and skeleton OS4 applications.
Exports C code for cut-n-paste into other projects.
Ideal for beginners who can't tell an HLayout from their **se.

Latest Version: 0.1 - The Stupidly Early Version

Requirements: OS4, a sense of humour and patience, SDK for OS4, AISS, svgtools, svg.datatype

What does it do? Occasionally outputs a Reaction interface with a passing similarity to the one drawn on screen. Exports C code that may work, but certainly doesn't look pretty.

Wow. How did you do all that so quickly? By nicking 99% of the MindSpace code...

License Freeware. It's not as though it's particularly useful yet...

Homepage and Contact May eventually get round to adding some info on the MindSpace website, but feel free to PM me here at AW or email yoodoo2 AT ast-workshops.co.uk

Disclaimer It may or may not work. It may or not work well. It may or may not destroy stuff. You've been warned. Please read the readme.txt file in the archive before telling me about limitations and bugs I've already documented...

@MichaelMerkel

No need, a Reaction designer is in the works.

So, two people basically doing the same stuff? As if the Amiga wouldn't have too few coders for too many (different) projects allready...

I imagine that Rigo's solution will be completely different to mine. MindGUI is based on exising code and has taken up all of 6 hours worth of my time so far.

Indeed. Remind which projects you're involved with at the moment and I'll make sure I don't duplicate them.

@all:
btw this is the "official" developer's forum for MindGUI and all on-topic comments/queries/suggestions are welcome. If you have general comments about how many GUI builders we have, perhaps you'd like to point to them to the more general thread here

@yoodoo2

Thanks for this early version. I'll test it out.

Hey,

neither do I blame you nor do I blame Rigo. It only looks like bad luck that two devs seem to spend their time in similar stuff.
Of course every one can code whatever he/she likes and is fun to code.
I am just saying, assuming you both are talented ;) for the Amiga it would be better if one of the powers could be spent in another also cool idea.
I am saying nothing more.
So just go ahead you two. I won't complain. And sorry for thinking loud.

CU,
Mario

Edit: The reason why I posted here, amiganews.de linked directely to this thread. Maybe they'd better linked to the other...

Just a thought, how about instead of two applications, you add an export feature to MindSpace to export the drawing as ReAction code? Maybe start a new project as a ReAction project which only allows certain tools to be used etc.

@Slash
The Reaction-export is basically a modified version of the function that ouputs svg code, so the 2 apps are basically identical. However, stripping out a little bit of MindSpace functionality also means I can distribute MIndGUI as freeware without annoying those who've registered (and paid for) MindSpace 1. Building MindGUI on top of the older code just means that something could be put together with minimal effort until MIndSpace 2 is in a useable state.

I see a binary-only version has been uploaded to OS4Depot. I was hoping there would be source code so I could assess the feasibility of an OS3.9 port.
