| After playing a bit with 3.0 I have to say it's great so far: - the overall speed seems to have increased once again. - OWB 1.17 is faster than ever - it's just awesome. - the video preview in ambient is pretty funny. - VPDF handels even most complex pdfs now (APDF had a few issues on certain ones) and is very fast. - Jalapeno is good, no need for other burning programs, even under Ambient selecting an iso gives the direct option to burn to disk. Nice! - Ambient has new functions and menu items (like configure file type action, pretty convenient, no need to go to prefs anymore) - many useful apps updated (showgirls, sketch) - skribble now included (was available before through the SDK) and well integrated (MUI custom class) - multitouch on the powerbook works nicely.

| It does seem like a slick update. Not too different at first glance, but the new apps are nice.
I wish Scribble would support MultiMarkdown as well. Then I'd be able to start working properly on this machine.
I noticed WiFi is not yet included for Powerbooks. Hopefully it'll come soon. Preferably before my new Powerbook arrives |

According some comment on amiga-news.de there's not much holding the wifi (not the airport, but some pcmcia card) driver back. It's the AROS one which basially works, but thefront end is not ready. I would really like if the front end less version would be downloadable on own risk/as is until the polished version will be ready. _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

I don't know anything about MultiMarkdown but Scintilla has a Markdown lexer. If it helps, I can enable it in the next Scribble release

We actually might consider Ibook support in a future update. It pretty much depends on the success/acceptance of the PowerBook option. The forthcoming update will definitely focus on fixing bugs that went unnoticed while doing our internal testing, though. So expanding hardware support is something that is considered after that ... _________________ Mac Mini G4 1.5 Ghz & MorphOS 3.x Power Mac G5 dual 2.3 Ghz MorphOS 3.x BlaBla Team Member -> http://blabla.ppa.pl AmiParty Team Member -> http://chal.pl |

Ibook support is interesting. There are many in this community that would benefit from that hardware.

That would be nice. I guess it only handles syntax highlighting, though, so it would still be necessary to move to other platforms to actually compile the output. Did I understand the lexer functionality correctly, or is there more to it? |

Yes, it's basically for context-sensitive syntaxing but not much more. I don't really think that something like MultiMarkdown should be part of the editor itself (and neither should LaTeX). I guess some arexx scripts to communicate with an external program could be an option.
MultiMarkdown source is available so I guess it could be ported rather easily if someone has motivation enough. |

Yep, very interesting indeed, since my iBook G4 1.67GHz is still tipping along nicely and still has a 3 hour battery life too. Would be an ideal candidate! Good stuff MorphOS guys! _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |

Yes. Something like Arexx would be an option. Recently a lot of editors have included MMD support for export, though, which is nice - and some take it even further. For instance iA Writer for OS X lets you write in MMD and then copy contents as HTML which lets you paste directly to a CMS.
Others use a library for export that lets you choose the output format (.doc, .html, .rtf etc.)
The most basic way of using it is of course a standalone compiler which would also be a giant leap forward for the Amiga-like platforms. |

Scribble has html and pdf export in the last version and with some more work I could also include routines for latex and rtf. No MMD on the horizon though. If someone ports the compiler, then I could do something about the kind of interface you talk about. Even the copy & paste thing is probably not that difficult. However, I doubt that the target audience for this kind of thing is very large (i.e. probably only you |

There is no such thing as an 1.67GHz iBook !
iBooks max out at 1.33GHz (12") and 1.42GHz (14"). _________________ - We don't need good ideas, we haven't run out on bad ones yet - blame Canada |

thanks :(
PowerBook G4, 1.25ghz (PowerBook 5,2????) is another one i found but its all wet and the screen lid looks loose / funny...
i will dry it up and see if i can get it booting up... but from what i can see this one won't work with morphos 3.0 either ... ack :(
can't see more apple stuff in the baskets ... blergh.
2011 55" LG Plasma screen here, looks ok too (no scratches, power outlet etc)... hmm wonder why they dumped that.. shame i can't carry that out without being spotted lol (it's stealing ... even if its dumped stuff)..
PS: i always get a bit "ugh" and feel i want to puke when i look in these dumps, dunno.. never had a thing for looking at broken stuff or for that matter watching people smash stuff. _________________ See my blog and collection website! . https://www.blog.amigaguru.com |

| Is there any new (in production) HW for MorphOS? I think no.
But is any company in the process of getting new PPC HW out for MOS? _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer? |
