here are two links: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Aros/Platforms/68k_support http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=65540&page=2
first step would be to look if Aros 68k boots at all (nightly build). Aros Vision is based on RTG (CybergraphX 3 that is wrapper around Picasso96) so you have to install Picasso96 (if graphiccard is available). You could ask Wawa who tested it on real hardware now and then (he is banned here I think)
Pros and Cons?
Cons on real classic hardware is that not everything is supported (yet), not all software works and that is far less optimized for the hardware (slower). Pro is that it is free distributable, everything is available in source and thus adaptable (important f.e. for support of new hardware), no legal problems (AmigaInc/Hyperion) and there are features like MESA/Gallium that will hopefully work in future and will certainly never ported to regular AmigaOS. And it is fun too Last edited by OlafS25 on 11-Jun-2014 at 08:55 AM.

ok, i don't have rtg on my classic amiga, and 030 is all ready slow for heavy workbench load, but i don't mind trying, the best thing maybe is trying in winuae or os4.1 using E-UAE .

E-UAE is i think also used in Aros and there the distribution works. Also WinUAE and FS-UAE work. If you want to use it on real hardware you can try it (at best on a own partition using nightly at first). It should also boot with AGA (without RTG) but then looking not so good.
It is fairly complete now from my view, I have tried to include everything that is legal and working, f.e. CybergraphX 3 and AHI (from Aros), Classact, WHDLoad (with preinstalled rom replacements) working with many games, MUI 3.8 and so on Last edited by OlafS25 on 11-Jun-2014 at 12:04 PM.

What i do have up and running:
Latest Icaros desktop using virtual box (win7) Latest AmiKit (Win7) AOS4.1.6 (need more work to get E-UAE working) Classic A1200 030 and indivision AGA connected to 32" LCD
right now i would like to go for a test with Icaros and using E-UAE as you suggested. how do you transfer files into icaros environment or make aros access files outside the virtualization.
sorry for asking this, sure it is easy or something

Good question, i have no experience with E-UAE (I only know that Pascal runs it on aeros). Easiest would be to use WinUAE on Win7
Manual: http://www.aros-platform.de/html/winuae_config.html
there is a directory with the complete AOS installation in icaros. I do not know if you can select a different directory or overwrite it.
Easiest option is WinUAE or FS-UAE on Windows Last edited by OlafS25 on 11-Jun-2014 at 02:02 PM.

| @OlafS25 Hi,
under aros you should use janus-uae.
I am downloading it right now. Did I say that Aminux will be available for some ARM devices as well ?
