If you look at the photos, you'll see that the menu system ws written by Hyperion.

The U-Boot menu interface (not U-Boot itself) used on the A1s was made by Hyperion. Probably that's what he's commenting (haven't looked at all the screenshots yet). |

| BTW, would adding a graphical logo, such as seen in the first screenshot, require switching to a VESA mode?

Yep - if you pop over to the page they are linked from, there is a subtitle that says it's in VESA mode._________________ Folding@Home Team AmigaWorld no: 33424 |

This is good news, every motherboard needs a firmware!
Very nice to see the SAM440 project moving forward!

| Does this mean we (A1 owners, that is) will be getting a U-boot upgrade? One with fancy logos and the like? _________________ Rage quited 29th May 2011 |

Yes, the output on the Sam440 BIOS is using graphics mode. As a consequence, text output is slower. If you prefer I can make the next U-boot use graphical output on the A1 as well and you may get a fancy logo _________________ Seriously, if you want to contact me do not bother sending me a PM here.
