| Hi Recently Amiga.Org had updated the buggy Xoops 1.X with new Xoops 2.05. With this new upgrade, I can login and post using Lynx, Links browser (text) or Dillo. For user with slow/ unreliable connection, it's better to use text only browser (9.6 Kbps). At present I cannot access/login to AmigaWorld.Net using text browser because of the bug. Is it possible to upgrade AmigaWorld.Net website with new version of Xoops? Thankx.

XOOPS2.0 has its own set of bugs and security exploits by the way.

Yes it is and we did plan this back in September but have been put off by the rather sloppy implementation using SMARTY ( which is quite a good system in of itself ) in XOOPS 2.0.
We do not use just plain XOOPS 1.3.x anymore, the enhancements we have made to add new site features are considerable, as are the bug fixes.
You might want to check that when you use lynx with amigaworld.net you actually accept the session cookies. If you have selected to reject all cookies from us before, then you will need to override that in lynx, one of the reasons for sudden browsers starting to work during an upgrade is the site renaming a session cookie or the domain that sets it thus prompting you for the option again.
Regards
Dave. |
