Hello,

I haven't seen any topics on Minimig recently. And it seems the project is developing nicely.

Right now, the Minimig's own forum is available:
http://www.minimig.de/forum/

There are also some nice pics of first Minimig 1.0 boards:
http://www.minimig.de/img_hcc_february_meeting/

For example this one:

Or this (Minimig in a small LCD screen):

Cheers,
[Yak]

Not quite an A500 in a joystick, but very cool nonetheless...I actually like the packaging of both pics above..pretty nice!

Amazing what a single person managed to develop within a year, while a so called "company" couldn't come up with *anything* tangible within 6 years...

Looking at the links that you gave, it seems that VMC is involved with the project somehow. Does anybody know some details?

@hatschi

Harald is no more, no less involved than you or I.

The difference is that he bought the minimig.de domain.

I hope Dennis is aware of the Amithlon story - I'd hate for the minimig to go the same way.....

AFAIK, Dennis plans to open-source the design. Hence the Amithlon situation can't really occur.

Very cool and a very amazing effort!

Any word on someone producing them in some quantity at some point?

I haven't followed MiniMig for some time, but it has come along really well. Those shots make it look pretty cool, and should the design become commercial, I can see a large number of enthusiastic people queuing up to get their hands on one of them.

Man, with a flash card, this could be turned into a pretty nice portable system. Too bad it's not an AGA system! That would offer some serious competition to most retro gaming systems out there.

But its a good step towards an AGA system.
The CIA's and Paula didnt change so thats two chips down and debugged.
Shame there are not better docs on the AGA chipset.
The UAE source would probably be the best place to start for an AGA chipset design.

@Oli_hd

I think the autor claimed that the AGA chipset would take far too long time reverse engineer.

perhaps someone can contact Mr Haynie, with his help the effort required might be dramatically lessened.

Oh, and I want one.

@elatour

The flash is controlled by the PIC. The flash contains the Kickstart to boot the Amiga and you can select any number of ADFs (limited only by the size of flash) for the floppies.

As soon as I can get my hands on one I will be hacking an IDE i/f on there.

No, Dennis always wanted this to be an OCS project. I think this is the reason he got it finished - to his credit and wisdom. As soon as it is released there will be a frantic mod scene and I am sure AGA will not be long coming, < 1 year I reckon!

Well it looks like Harald may be looking to manufacture them. I think Nusim will be interested in this, also.
There's nothing wrong with a bit of competition!

Yeah I know about his intentions, but in the loong thread over at A.org he was repeatedly asked whether he would consider doing an aga-version, to which he responded something like it would take too much time. (IIRC).
