I am going to release a limited batch of the WALKER case.
Limited means 202 cases. 1 for me, 1 for a friend and 200 for whoever likes it : )
Each case will habe a serial and date stamp.

The case is a resized version of the Walkers designed to hold a Raspberry Pi2 with UPS (3000mA battery), a PiTFT Touchscreen, a slim DVD-RW drive and optionally a 2.5" Hardrive. Also included are speakers so it can act as a mobile boombox.

The 4 legs can be removed and another case can be placed below it with more extensions.

One extension is a Keyrah or kyroflux for example.

The OS is AEROS Premium. It comes with AmigaOS 3.1 which can be launched from AEROS. Also you can run a majority of i386 linux apps and Windows apps without the need for direct3D.

You are free to choose colors like red, blue, green, black and white.
Price is 300€ including:
Case,
Powerplug
UPS
Pi-TFT
AEROS Premium
AmigaOS 3.1
DVD-RW (CD32 anyone? )

The ground dimension is 150x150mm

Together with the case you get the 3d data so you can enhance the design or create additional stacks.

The Touchscreen can do Screen-mirroring or can show a unique UI to control the music player or "Power, - reset and sleep buttons". Also system notifications or messages could be forwarded.

Interesting idea, but I really don´t like such red design. However, I´m not future customer, so my opinion is not relevant.

Walker design was ugly and misguided back in 1995 and still is

I like it more as soon you start stacking, so it grows to a tower.

Sound tower : )

Looks like a trashcan...

The typewriter design for A500/600/1200/C64/128 is fine and universally acceptable, same with a 19" cuboid box stereo design or any cuboids-shaped design like loudspeakers, but this Walker belong in a baby room, or jusst for nostalgic reasons or just plain scary.

Who the heck came with such a horrible design anyways?

The first time i saw the walker was in a magazine called Amiga games... So yes maybe it is nostalgia... Back than lt was a good sign (Hope for a Amiga future)..

Yes indeed nostalgia : )

@LimoU.Sin

The tower version looks like a kitchen bin of some sort, maybe IKEA would be interested?

The regular desktop design is better, I think for the time was quite a neat design and would have stood out from the crowd. It also accomodated a CD-ROM drive and floppy drive while keeping a small footprint. Of course a few years after the Walker the iMac, PC gaming cases took off and the industry become more experimental.

On your updated design I think less would be more really, not keen on the screen or red. Keep it quite mimimal preferably with optical drive hidden behind some facia (like the A1-500 case). Maybe have an empty 3.5" drive bay as on the original, useful for card readers, extra USBs, hard drive tray, etc.

@phoenixkonsole

For nostalgic reasons in 2015 yes.

can't remember what magazine it was, probably CU or Amiga Format or something I saw it for the first time and I was paralyzed by how bad it looked. Couldn't invite girls home with such a monster of a typewriter/computer... If I remember correctly i thought the BoXer was the most interesting Amiga clone at the time.

BTW, the Nintendo 64 looked weird too but that was just a game console.

Well this thing here is much much smaller than the original. The touchscreen is there to be able to play music without the need of a tv/monitor. So basically it is a mediacenter case with a excentric design ; )

Btw.. The red color was the default color of the material in the cad system. . The slim dvd-rw just fits... The widest dimension is 150mm ...so it is a cute little vacuum cleaner

Usually you put the vacuum cleaner or food processor away when you're done with it or its finished, you don't do that with a stereo... My DAB radio has round corners btw?

It's too small.

@Tomppeli
It holds a raspberry pi, a dvd-rw, a ups, a tft and has room for a 2.5" hard drive.
So compared to a normal raspberry pi case it is huge.
For extension like floppy you can add an extra stack below.

So you made it only for Pi. What about Sam boards, for example ?
