Thanks1

If memory serves me correctly its completed, but not being released until a glitch in AOS4's ogl has ben fixed (causes glitches in texture alignment atm iirc).

@fishy_fis

Update 4 is supposed to include an updated Warp3D, so I'm hoping the OpenGL fix is in place...

Could someone post the updated list of supported chips by the new Radeon driver? I'm specifically curious about chips with PCI ID 0x1002 0x4c57 ("Mobility M7" versions of the Radeon 7500). I have one of these that I'd like to use, because the new 3D drivers won't work on my 9800Pro (R300 chipset...)

Why not a port of Quake 4 to OS 3?

Well I think it´s to much work porting it. Simply grab some Quake 4 pics from internet throw them into your favorite OS3.x 68k pic viewer the result should be the same. The advantage: You can have it right now

@zErec

That list says what's implemented in Pre3. I already know that the Mobility 7500 is not one of the "known" cards in Pre3 (see the thread I linked to). My question was about Pre4

@CodeSmith

The list shows you what you can exspect from pre3 (what the majority of us are using) and what will
be in the final release of OS4. You just have to look at the chips listed (R100,RV200,etc.) and you know
what works or not. The cards mentioned that are marked with "comming soon" you will see in pre4/Final soon.
The R300 is something for the future. OpenGL aka Mesa3D has to be integrated into our system.
When that´s done the best cards you could buy and use for A1SE/XE with full 2D/3D (vertex+pixel shader,etc)
support are Radeon 9700/9800 (PRO/XT).

@zErec

I have a 9800Pro in there right now (hand-me-down from my PC), and for 2D it works great. However, the 9800 is an R300, so as you said 3D is for the future. I also have a Radeon 7500 that I bought a while ago, but which has a PCI ID that the Pre3 Radeon driver does not know (so it doesn't work even for 2D). Not knowing Radeons to that level of detail, I have no idea if the change needed to make the card work is small (chipset is compatible so the ID just needs to be added to a list) or big (chipset is completely incompatible, calling it a "Readeon 7500" is a marketing exercise, eg like what Creative does with their Soundblaster cards). Hence my question, I'm hoping either a beta tester or driver author will reply.

And the framerate would be identical.

I will demo QuakeIII on my A1 at ACGGbg's Easter Party in Gothenburg that starts tomorrow. Also Ole-Egil will attend to hold a seminar on PCB design and we will build some cools stuff using AVR microcontrollers. He will also bring his PCI Express graphics card and show how it works in his A1/OS4

Pictures and a report will probably show up on safir after the weekend, but a webcam and "live" blog's will probably show up on safir.amigaos.se during the party.

PCI express on A1? How? Wasn't the A1 board supplied with only agp port, or is a way to convert "normal" pci slots into pciEX?
