@Gopal

Seriously, this site rocks! What a collection

Byt the way, does anyone remember a very old game i'm searching. If my memory is correct, it was a kind of puzzle / platform game and i think the main character was a mad scientist or professor or something (you know, a dude with a white coat and white hair)?

The Ultimate Amiga Games Database is NOT a good web site because you can not download any of the games. It is only good for reference. I am looking for the NTSC version of Ultima VI.

Erm, it's a database, it's designed for reference, that doesn't mean it's not a good website, it's a bloody good website, and some good forums too - maybe I'm biased as I've been a registered user for over a year

If you know where to look there are links to sites where you can get the games... but you need to engage your brain, not your mouth

Back 2 Roots has games for download, gratis and legal.
They are also a database containing information about games that you can't download.
You'll find them in the games links listing.
I don't know wether HoL or B2R is the most complete database.

I have ALL of the games from Back 2 Roots downloaded on my Pentium 4 PC and recorded onto 2 ISSO 9660 CD-Rs. Back 2 Roots does not have Ultima VI (NTSC version).

This site is really nice. Simple and informative, easy to navigate. Shame the screenshots are quite small and openin those little pop-up windows that most Amiga browsers will not display correctly (if at all).

IMO this should make use of the wealth of user reviews that are present in the Amiga Games Database - it's nice to see some nostalgic/retrospective reviews, as well as just what the magazines thought at the time.

A bit strange to have two resources both trying to fill the same niche...

Make that three.
Fire-Button

But my site's pretty crap at the moment. I've got an update/rewrite on my harddrive that I've been working on for about half a year though that should be quite something.

Why do you need the NTSC version specifically Amiga2000King? Don't you have a monitor for your amiga?

Yes, I do have a ViewSonic SVGA monitor plugged into the A2320 board that is installed inside my Amiga 2500 Professional computer. My Workbench 2.04 on this computer is setup for NTSC, NOT for PAL and I do NOT want to have to switch between NTSC and PAL modes all the time. That would not be good for the monitor. Anyway, NTSC looks much better then PAL mode.

I take back what I said earlier, after actually observing The Ultimate Games Database website, I have come to the conclusion that it is very nice and I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. It would be a much better website if you could download the games.

@z5

Thanks.

There are 4807 screenshots there at the moment. But more will come in version 2, whenever I have time to finish it.

The name of the database is the Hall Of Light. The sentence "the ultimate amiga games database" is just a subtitle to describe what it is.

There is an option to turn off "dhtml popup for pictures" on the front page so that the the secondary screenshots open in a new window. At one time they were displayed at a size of 320x256 on each game page, but changed to thumbnails linked to the full screens for reasons of bandwidth.

The HOL has always been about the game data - not downloads. Researching the game info is a big enough job already!
