onEscapee was cool and the graphics was very nice for its time. There where some jumping puzzles that was very hard, but overall it was not too difficult to go through the game that I remember?

The end is really bad however (the animation is ugly and there is no real epic point for the game to end like it does for the hero). Overall the game lacks a bit of soul in my opinion. Always preferred Another World over this one, to be honest (Another world had soul aplenty (Another World is better than its sequel Flashback as far as I'm concerned)).

Not my favourite game, simply because of the virtual lack of a compelling story.

... But I would still buy it if was re-released for AOS4, mind you.

@SlimJim

flashback is not the sequel to another world..

Another World 2 (HEART OF THE ALIEN) is the sequel to another world and that was only released for Sega CD (and btw, it starts where AW stops).

check http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=3180 for more information.

Ah, you're right, now that you mention it I remember thinking that I wanted that true sequel to appear on the Amiga too ...

I know why I was confused though -- In my mind I have always considered Flashback as the follow-up to Another world -- a continuation of the gaming style (the "sophisticated platformer" ) that began with Another World.

They are all good, but gaming-wise I rank them:

- Another World
- Flashback
- OnEscapee

Have to get to play Another world again. Love the almost poetic ending to it (that music's beautiful!). Do anyone know if it can run on modern hardware?

To stay on topic:

Could somebody look after Sadeness in a company record? I wonder is there a
free searchable database in the UK? UK folks! Any hint?
