The location picked for BAS 2003 is at least most excellent.

I'm getting old.. For a moment it looked like you typed BAF 2003

how do you know if ExecSG is running on the A1?
there is no inherent output from a kernel (and a plain kernel running for itself is probably the most boring thing on this side of windows).

if ExecSG is running on CBPPC then it is also most likely able to run on A1 (with the suitable HAL) the same goes for Shell etc.

ExecSG will not contain any A1 only stuff (as far as I have understood OS4) this is the domain of the HAL which should be separate from ExecSG (otherwise there is no point of having HAL's).

There is if there is debugging output. Picture.

Hopefully that image alone will convince you (and that's from a year ago)

Hehe. NO; he's holding a 16 Meg compact flash with AOS4.0 on it!!!

Hello Rogue and EntilZha,

Just wondering, you've seen the source code.

Now, I don't want to embarrass "The Great Ones of Olde", but I was wondering, and if it's not pretty, don't respond, I love AOS, so is the original code a very impessive opus, or just something thrown together that works good?
(To all AOS users everywhere (especially goes to the creators of it all), please don't take offense at this question if it doesn't have a happy result, it's just that so few people could judge that since how many ever get to see it? Besides, I am a card carrying BAF, what a burden*! )

Off topic warning (I think). Could a PCI board be made that could be put in that would have one or more PPC chips on it? Then AOS4.0 could run on those independently of the CPU on the motherboard (just grant it a location on the screen for it's output, like a "picture in picture" (PIP) on a TV set, it would have ram of its' own there as well) Or even a "oh my gosh" x86 "bridgeboard" be done?

@Georg:

I disagree. I think in all cases where it has been appropriate, Hyperion has been good at keeping peoples expectation on par with reality. Sure, they missed a deadline or two. This also means a short period where you shut up and don't say too much until the official statement is out (if everyone on the team said anything at anytime publically, organization would be hell...).

And it's not my fault people aren't bloody listening when I say something. If everyone would talk less and listen more, we would have a hell of a lot fewer misunderstandings to clear up.

There were lots of such positive rumours. Mostly

not with a quite that big motivation/hurry.

If you could point me to such a rumour, instead of speaking generally as in "well, there where some of them blah blah blah" I'd be very grateful. FYI, I don't read everything, and I correct whatever I see which is wrong. I said repeatedly in the past that I can't give any date. If that isn't sufficient, I can't help you.

But please be a bit more specific than "there were lots of such positive rumours". Show me one.

It's a bit tiring to see the Friedon brothers going on the attack yet again because someone made a comment and they don't 'know'.

Your lot never tires to attack me, so I think it is only fair to defend oneself. Thomas responded to someone claiming to know how far away OS 4 on the AmigaOne is. Nothing else.

Your decision. Don't try to make it for others. This is a free market you know

I haven't seen any false positive rumours lately.

Or when ExecSG was shown on the A1, that there's already the Shell or DOS ported, too, because you could enter some commands.

Thanks for pointing this out. I did specifically dispell this rumour. But perhaps you didn't hear it.

@ Ray

You might be IP-banned on Amiga.org

Or can you visit Amiga.org?

With Kees in charge I doubt such high levels of extremism we had to witness in the past will return to AO. (If Wayne keeps himself in the background as promised that is...)

Wayne banned me (for criticizing BBRV) without even notifying me first and so needless to say I was quite shocked at the time when this happened. I would be even more shocked if something similar would happen again under the leadership of Kees!

It appears you're wrong, Mike. The link still doesn't work for me but there is a reason for that. I am still banned from posting or otherwise contributing to amiga.org, which includes not having access to their "image-o-matic" images.

Extremism still lives on amiga.org, it is just disguised differently at the moment and is targeted specifically.

Update to amiga.org situation:

Kees read my last response and emailed me. It appears he didn't receive my last email for some reason. I have resent it.

For those who care, I will update after I receive his reply.

For those who don't care, please skip this response and read the next.

I'm sure Kees will sort it out, he comes across as a bit more neutral than Wayne (perhaps an understatement there!)
