@number6

Can anyone who has already tested with the current MPlayer(Refresh) confirm
that either of the prior versions of MPlayer FAIL to reproduce this problem?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No growth with dirty#3 or with frogger. Looks like mplayer#4R has a problem.

@sundown

I posted this link in another thread. If you interested in codecs and their "behavior":

http://www.free-codecs.com

Oh, before you leave the codec website please remember to thank the people who keep
labeling avi files MPEG. It -so- helps in keeping things clear. (sarcasm)

I would prefer that the author makes final judgment on this thread, but you
certainly have a point.

Best Wishes,
#6

@afxgroup

Here is a video : http://tonton.pascal.free.fr/avi/MVI_2718.AVI
(my father's dog meeting my brother's cat , my brother's son appears too )

it's from my Digital Camera Canon A60

with previous versions of MPlayer (til #3) I could play thoses videos (simple AVI, no DivX)

With your last release, the play back is speeded up !!
I have the same problem with an old Mpeg
Maybe a codec problem...

Please test by yourself

to launch MPlayer : double click on the icon, then drop of the vid Icon in the requester window, that's all I did.

regards

@afxgroup

Forgive me for posting this. I realize it is -not- proper protocol:

@thread

The issue IS being looked at.
Personal opinion ONLY here - Exercise caution with MPlayer (Refresh) until the issue is resolved.

Edit(Added):Updated summary on previous page of this thread.

Best Wishes,

@afxgroup

I have tried to play "Lost in translation" original DVD (contry is Spain, but I don't know its zone, sorry), MPlayer tries to open it, opens a window (cgxvmem, no sound, all from GUI 1.31), shows some garbage and then it closes... Any hint? Oh, and only with track 1, other tracks are played ok, but they are extra content, not the movie.

Find below the output:
