If Amiga inc want OS4 on x86 then it will happen, David Haynie doesn't have to buy Amiga inc for that to happen.
Those of you that want OS4 on x86 should be talking to Amiga inc about it. |

To be honest, I am like a lot of other people in that I don't really care what it runs on, so long as I can buy it and the hardware it needs to work with without too much hassle.
Easily reparied/replaced hardware would be a nice bonus too, given things these days just don't seem to be made like they used to. _________________ Test sig (new) |

Then there may be the last option "i don´t care about the cpu as long as there is Pancakes !" ?
Or the option "Another Obsure Cpu called Pancakes" ?

Don't laugh, they could market it as "OS4 Anywhere". "It runs on a myriad of different platforms: PPC and uhm, x86". Last edited by polka. on 17-Jan-2006 at 02:11 PM.

We don't have the PPC part and should hope for the x86 version?

Hmmm, the "Amiga religion" factor.
Judging by your Avatar, maybe you could just "bless" new hardware for us?
(My avatar could give your avatar a good interest rate in exchange) ;-P |

The license has conditions.
If Amiga Inc fail to release a new version of OS4 within 6 months of release... it's Hyperions and Hyperions alone. The license disappears.
Before this time, Amiga Inc has the option of buying OS4 from Hyperion, if they don't, it's Hyperions.
(there's also a bankruptcy clause, but the undead arn't really ever dead, even if they have no pulse and smell like rotting flesh walking around groaning "Braaaaaaaaiiins!", so that one can be ruled out)

XBOX 360’s developmental Windows NT kernel runs on G5 PowerMacs.

Otherwise it isn't an Amiga, it's just an OS, and yes while that's all we've got right now, one can only hope that the hardware will improve when there's enough money from this first generation of sucky PPC hardware. These first PPC systems keep us in the game until we can make a leap. |

Personally, I'd like to see a pumped up system with multiple cell chips. I like that the cell chip would make the next gen Amiga system different to everything else out there. Unless Apple strikes first and hedges it's x86 bets. |
wouldn't we all... I hope that somehow all this years of knowledge can be put to a good use... _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga |

That's maybe the reason why we are still here, isn't it? Why would AmigaOS on a PC (I don't say a customized x86, e.g. I-Mac) make a different ? |
But what do you have to say about an customized I-Mac like x86 Amiga? Last edited by pixie on 21-Jan-2006 at 02:18 AM.
