This is, as it always was, to be read as "the plan is that we release update #4 in early january". Didn't work out, tough luck, get over it.

You really do need to work on your customer relations skills.

Actually, I like it. His ansfer was simple and straight. Plan didn't work out, but we're doing it. Quite normal situation in IT word.

Nothing wrong with what he said, it's good that we've been told. It's the way it was said.

If I remember correctly, you can change the text on the title bar of Workbench. So it would be a funny idea if someone could change AmigaOS 4.0 into PancakesOS 4.0 and take a screenshot of it

I was going to do that, but with a shell prompt... but I've run out of time! Off to the movies now.

Erm, no I don't. I am not a PR man. You get straight answers from me. If you can't take them, don't ask

I think You are good in PR. Better than Amiga inc. Nothing to do with PR anyways, stop reading these and work in peace. I enjoy os4 and never rant if something goes wrong sometimes, boy we have a quite new pc in work that is totally locked and it can't be shut off "normally", slow as hell IF it works.

I guess that's why many of us are still here. We are not totally happy even with modern fast pcs.

Much better to be straight to the point than padding with excess words that ammount to nothing.

@Mr_Capehill

Yes, and I've installed WinXP from scratch again (for the first time in my life and hopefully the last) and have all firewalls, payed virus
programs and scanned the software that does something bad and installs itself.

In a fresh install it works fast and Opera or Firefox is really fast.
Allthough I prefer IBrowse, sadly about 1/3 of the net does not work with 2,3 or AWeb. We hope to get something new really soon as the time goes on...

My A1200 aside of this XE has been updated and the hd changed from A4000 and some hw changes made (Zorro,PIV etc) and WB 3,5 installed over it and Dopus and so on...

It is still fast and stable, unbeliavable. And offcourse I towered it after '040>060 with loads of stuff. The work to a pc case is too much and sometimes ugly, I hope we could get some standard "Amy" again!

The good memories are back with os4, thats why I'm sticking around.

First off, love the new (to me) avatar.

Secondly, this whole sordid exercise with Update 4 (of which I too am looking forward to eagerly) merely proves to me this single, simple point. You should have just walked face first into an uncovered floor fan. You'd get all the same blood, tears and pain of making a prediction about an OS4 update release without all the mess that goes with it. :)

Next time you get these urges to make predictions, walk into two floor fans and call me in the morning. :)

You need another one to play when the computer is actually ready to use.
Maybe add more for malfunctions and then we'll have music all day.
