@Framiga
I don't think I'll be "apology in public" any time soon, mate. New hardware or not this is a stupid f--king way to "advertise" and all it does is irritate the s--t out of anyone who's been waiting for four years for decent A1 hardware in sustainable quantities.

@TheDungeonDelver

I think this funny game (well, funny for those who heard of this project before at least) is understandable. It's all about teasing, saying "Come and see it at Pianeta".

@TheDungeonDelver

I think this thread's purpose is to create hype for Pianeta Amiga.
Not an uncommon way to create publicity and interest for a happening or a product these days.

@tomazkid

Maybe, but entirely the wrong way to do it.

Well, let's just call it "good intentions with the worst ever execution". The timing and method of delivery was apparently not what the community was looking for....so.....

Now that we've all expressed our dismay with the way this "news" has been presented, let's move on. Maybe the next post (clue?) will actually give some details. As much as you may dislike this format, there is a certain amount of thanks to be given for at least confirming that the info about the hardware will come within the next month.

Agree, given the current state of the hardware not available, this is not the nice way to present things.

But this is really rediculous. There have been hints of new hardware in September
floating around since June. So what's the problem if Ikir makes a little joke about
it???
There have now been two official announcements, if he has inside info on one of
them so good for him. What's all the fuss about?
Everybody that's upset should really take a break and chill out.

You will all find out if they are true on BB4 and Pianeta. If not get angry then!

@TheDungeonDelver and ALL

OK i'm off. This wasn't intended to be a flame topic, but a growing preview before the show or an official newsitem.

In the last months i've only see threads about "no news" "please update" "please photos". If you agree or not this was different, since it is no joke or flame or a fantasy-future product.

I would be happy to read even sneak-peaks like this on new hardware, but i suppose amigans are more busy ranting about everything. This was only the first clue to create hype.
More informations could be learned from this thread and also the fact that many respectable users are already taken in their hands this board. Probably one of the most positive news about hardware in the lasts months.

There will be no other threads from me about this topic, feel free to use abuse report button or call me stupid.

More info at Pianeta Amiga or in a official newsitem.

@ikir

please don't, we're all somewhat picky nowadays.Instead, you could state something in the topic like: "warning:teaser,not interested? fine." so everyone's mostly happy.A few additional details here and there within such a thread wouldn't harm, as well.
Think about having to wait a whole week to know something further.Some clues like "that stuff is going to be a high/low-level stuff, pointing at low price/performance/integration","It has good connectivity/etc".

We know you, Ikir. We know what kind of person you are, certainly not a joker, not a liar. Don't take care of who only want to create a flame war.

Keep on.

There has been different rumors, jokes and hints about new hardware during the past few years.
Announcements about hardware presentations, that didn't make it, due to different circumstances and excuses.

The joke itself is no problem, the problem is that the current situation does not give too much room for joking, it's simply not fun anymore.

Pianeta Amiga is one of the few major events this year, I hope it really does succeed to fulfill the announcements.

Nothing of what Ikir has said was a joke.

Abuse reports will be dealt with justly from case to case, and personal insults likewise, so don't worry.

Why? What harm does it really? People should learn to chill out and not take everything
so damn serious. Amiga is a hobby, nice if hardware appears too bad if not. Nothing you
can do about it really.
I have also been an Amigan through the hard years (1994-2004). I also waited for all those
new exiting hardwares that was announced. So what? IMHO most of those announcements
where genuine at the time and fell through for different reasons. Money seems to be the
obvious one.
My point is. Now we have two companies that have announced hardware for the upcoming
shows. Let's bash them afterwards rather than before.. So let's wait for the shows before
handing out judgement eh?

@AmigaBlitter

I know it was not a joke about the hardware itself. Just that he made the teasing as a joke.
No harm IMHO.

I say just as those defending the x86 threads. Read it if you like, disregard if you don't.
I for one say keep 'em coming Ikir. The show is here soon anyway.

Well said!

Whoever pressed the abuse button, shame on you!

Just go out more man, chill out, meet people, have some fun, even if it is a hoax, (which I don't think it is) who cares?

It's not the end of the world, we have been waiting for YEARS and much bigger companies with a lot more cash behind them have taken us for a ride and now that a group of Italian developers say something in a teasing-funny way you press the abuse button, grow up!

... and IMHO rather well executed!

Fully agreed!

That the whole lot is a bit touchy, to say the least, I find remarkable as it is an indication of anxiousness about what is to come. Sure a good sign and I hope that ikir is not playing to high. Let it be something really noteworthy and a pretty good step forward!
A number of people here in this thread behave like a bunch of children who can't keep their pee up in wild expectation of their birthday present. Please calm down lads! As has been said before ikir does not have a reputation of spreading wild rumours, so keep yourself in hand and don't let the situation get the better of you!

Having said that, I think the teaser shows off a new piece of hardware invented by someone like Jens Schoenfeld and it is a device that lets you use a 1408 monitor, or maybe even a Microvitek one, in conjunction to an A1! Have I guessed right ikir? Say I am, say I am! Oh, boy now that would be something, wouldn't it!
