@hatschi

LOL - too funny.

I can't imagine how anyone following the Amiga's transition to the Next Gen for the last 10 years or so could be so jaded ;)

Here is the conceptual design image for the OS4 on a stick custom case. We are currently holding a contest to choose the final colour shceme and logo.

Come on Jahc, what do you expect when someone drops an ounce of blood into a pool of sharks. I think petty games like this need to cease. Is 12 years of agony not enough??? Do we have to drag out 30 more days of "drive a nail through your eye"? What then, do we reveal all 3 pci slots and expect everyone to cheer and scream from the roof tops with joy?

I for one have had about enough of the "clue dropping crew", with all of the smilies, winks, cryptic lead-on's and all of the "non-clues" they are dropping. All I see is a piece of PCB that says RoHS. So what. Let's just assume for a minute that the next Amiga hardware will indeed have a PCB, AND, it will HAVE to be RoHS compliant. This is about as exciting as a gummi bear in a glass of water.

Hatschi's post at least has some humor value.

Great, yet another juvenile ego-trip.

"I know things you little people don't,and I'm going to rub your noses in it. Hehehehehe"

It's so pathetic.

@Herewegoagain

You all rant about hardware pictures.... Now you can see a real photo of new hardware. It is not intended to be an agony bacause "they" didn't announced the board 10 months ago. Do you like more the other 100 threads "port to x86" or "wee need hardware"?

@DrBombcrater

But you rant about silence before... OMG! You always lose with Amiga comunity

@hatschi

Work started already many months ago.

What a coincidence, just today I've got an idea of a time range (like "min. X and max. Y seconds to wait") too.

I fail to understand the need of using custom hardware just for the sake of it. How much we'll have to wait until I can buy that mistery board and I run OS4 in my home on it. One year? maybe two?

In addition to creating a new board, producing it in numbers and distributing it; OS4 has to be adapted to the new boards. How much time will that be... 2 years?

I would prefer to buy a second hand cheap G4 Apple laptop and run OS4 on it. It would run rings around any MicroA1 in terms of price and speed. Or on a MacMini G4. Or on a G5 Tower or iMac G5.

If we are using a cpu family used by Apple 4-5 years ago I guess that by year 2010 someone will post a photograph of an untested ttaiwanese motherboard rebranded by somebody and people will say:
OMG!!!! this is a 2Ghz G5! we rule! Amiga Forever! yeah! when OS4 final gets released the world will know! we were right!! oh yeahhh!

Instead of posting photographs tell us when will we be able to buy that and run os4 on that. How much will that cost. How can you be so sure of time frames as always there are delays.

And by year 2010 Genesi will have been producing Dual G5 motherboards for 3 years but people will say bbrv is evil! genesi is evil! mos is evil!

By year 2010 you'll also be able to buy old powerpc apple stuff for really cheap prices but people who bought machines from Eyetech will say "oh and what about the customer support? what am I supposed to to do if my 2nd hand mac burns uh?

Quite frankly... I'm bored of current situation. Luckily yesterday I reassembled a TRUE amiga: my Amiga4000 with CSPPC. I ran some 060 demos... it ran great... workbench ran great too...

OS4 is great and it hurts my eyes when I read stupid promises and also stupid arguments about not running it on readily available hardware. It's very sad because OS4 is really good and due to the fanatism of a few its future is being killed.

Is it the A600 accelerator board running OS4!

Is it a plane?

Is it the whole World Cup matches videos (ITALIA! ITALIA!) on a USB stick running OS4 (I am obsessed!)

Is it the Dragon?

Is it the SharkPPC?

Is it....oh ####! Time to go to work?

@Crumb

I don't agree on Peg-fanatism issue... anyway it doesn't care now.

The clue is about one project, and AFAIK the project running are 3.

Afxgroup and other users already give informations about Moana....

I'm pretty sure that if you wont be interested in this project, you will be impressed by the other ones. So you will need to wait a little more, since at Pianeta Amiga we will discover things about THIS project.

Ran great?! Are you sure about that? My A4000 - CS060 MK3 - CVPPC was/is sluggish, very
sluggish even, compared to OS4 *AND* my Windows setup.
Yes they're okey if you install Workbench and nothing else. But install some of the "must
have" stuff and it will be slow.

IMO old Amigas suck if you don't run hardware banging stuff like demos & games. They're
just too slow.
