Cast your eyes to the left in the Features menu is "OS4Zone", which is hardly ever used and for exactly this sort of thing.

Yes, but this takes us back to wegster's age old comment:
Quote:
Yep, that would be useful. it was one of the original intents for 'OS4Zone,' although xoops needs additional work to allow the publisher to actually be able to edit it, among other things.

Therefore, I must ask if anything has changed in this regard, or is OS4Zone still
a "write once-non-editable area" from the standpoint of a Xoops implementation?

Thanks Mark.
And for those wondering why I would even raise the subject in public:
Hopefully it will prevent some of the knee jerk comments about why certain ideas
are not instantly carried forward.
There ARE issues concerning what can be implemented and what can -not- be
implemented strictly from a website perspective.
I'm merely investigating options in order to be better prepared for the future.

@ikir

Thanks for the clue, can't wait for #2

Never mind the cynical, pessimistic and negative comments, some of us actually do enjoy the ride and appreciate this kind of gesture

@ironfist

One thing is for sure, it's currently the most read active thread here.

Followed by the Efika thread.

So people are interested in threads about new hardware, trolls or not.

Surely, its obvious to anyone with more than just a single brain cell that I meant *without OS4 being available* nobody will be brought to OS4...

Yes it is a mistake, the correct date are 23/24 september 2006
and dev. con. date is 23 september.

Idem for the link at bottom.
The link at top working
I hope to see all at Pianeta Amiga.

Unfortunately I just looked and for me it's really too expensive by airplane (~400 E by individual) and too long by road (more than 14H)...
So I guess i would have to follow the event via Internet

Hi man, sorry for the lateness of the reply. I'll follow up my responses in the manner that you have posted yours for simplicity's sake. Some people have already answered my queries, so I'll be extremely brief.

(1)I linked to the updated Pianeta Amiga (english) page earlier in this thread.

I meant announcement in the sense of specifications (which, is what we are all after) and project proclamation plus vision, as opposed to a snippet (NB. Not saying ANYTHING against you here, merely stating what is lacking there).

Quote:

(2)The developer has already responded in this thread.

I have no idea of who that might be, unfortunately. Is it Lecta?

Quote:

(3)The team is handling information the way -they- wish, as are ALL the hardware
developers.

Why do I, as a prospective customer, have to chase up the information, when it should be handed to me on a silver platter, as it were? It is not I who is seeking to gain any profit or make a name for myself in the Amiga hardware arena.

Quote:

Currently their is no such thing as an "integrated Amiga hardware department".

I hadn't noticed (a joke!)

Quote:

There is also no one official spokesperson for the hardware developers as a group.

This is what I wrote in that original post to which you replied to:

Quote:
This is where (get ready for THE oxymoronic statement) an honest PR department is needed.

Quote:
Until such a time -may- come, you will have to accept the reality under which
these folks must operate.

You forget, as I state only two pargraphs ago, that I am the prospective customer in which case, I need not necessarily accept anything (I'm just saying).

No, I'm not a developer. But I know them very well and I followed this project from the beginning. Anyway, let's wait the actual developers to come out "officially".

Oops. My apologies, your posts seemed the closest to what a dev would have written.
