@Bodie_CI5

Nothing to apologize! I wish I could be one of the developers, but unfortunately I don't have the required skills :-/
I'm only a supporter

@Lecta

I reckon being a supporter is better than developing... too much hassle

@Bodie_CI5

Hmmmm....Pages and pages of miscommunication in the thread, then I briefly toss
a few ideas around with Mark about how to solve this, followed by even more mistakes
outlined in the last page or so of this thread.
In case you wish to review why I even bothered to post in this thread, please
read Post#124 (which should indicate that there were some corrections made to
the english pages for Pianeta Amiga). Thanks to those who helped with that btw.
Next I posted in #184 in hopes that people would read my link to a basic proposal
on how to clear up some of the communications issues and discuss same. Thanks to
Polka for bothering to read this and responding.
btw-The response was typical of the time I have been here. One person discusses,
the balance just continue complaining about the problem itself. Sorry, Bodie, but
it's the truth.
Next I posted in #204 about things such as the how the language barrier affects
communications here. I refer you to this -entire- thread as proof of that.
Next in #214 I refer back to my prior interest in establishing a means of clearing
up this problem and begin a short dialog with Mark on the topic. Note that we
continue in #221-223 and in irc.
Even -after- an attempt to clear things up we see following "news" on AI's site.
Quote:
...the first Amiga Developers Conference that will be held on Saturday 2rd september

The "2rd" of September? Even Polka's post in this thread started with the
thought that the developers should post directly -but- after reading the responses
he retracted his statement and indicated:
Quote:
I need to revise my previous statement. Some developers could definately need a spokesman.

Again, this ties back to what I said about a place people can go for help before
posting to make -sure- that the final post they make in english represents what
they -intended- to say in their native language.
I really don't think this thread is the place to discuss the solutions to our
communications issues. If staff would like to discuss this further, just let me
know where/when and I will honestly lay out -why- this situation exists and we
can certainly find an easy answer, one that is "simple" and requires no extra
resources or manpower.
Thanks for your insightful reply as always.

Forgive me for not shedding some enlightenment on the topic of this thread itself,
but until such time as people can communicate effectively on this site, it is
obvious from the responses here that this is a pointless exercise.

Hmm, the 2rd of september? But that isn't a Saturday, it's a Satanday

But seriously, if he says Saturday and 2 and September in the same sentence, then I for one am willing to guess he meant Saturday 2nd September. If you think THAT was difficult to understand then regular employment must be a really huge obstacle for you.

This weeks pet peeve:
Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

Heh! The previous page of this thread outlines some of the other problems with
the "news" items. This was just an -additional- illustration of the lack of
proof reading.

What communication issue? I posted in an attempt to deflect the flak that Ikir was receiving in this thread, and delved into the issues of hardware developers and their lack of communication. Not communication within these forums.

Are you saying that my reply to you is somehow "mistaken"? How can my reply be a mistake to a reply of yours of a post initiated by me?

Whatever you have been discussing with Mark, is between yourself and Mark and any others who may or may not have participated as a "sub-conversation"; is there a time limit allowable as to a permissible reply? I really am at a loss as to the purpose of your lengthy reply and of "communication issues" as stemming from a "PR department" statement which, really bears no centrality to what I was putting forth.

Thousands of users on this site pretty much share the same concerns, am I not allowed to also hold such concerns?

As far as I can ascertain, I did not write my initial post as a reply to any post of yours; replied to me in point form and I defended my own position. I don't see what the problem is.

@abalaban

Unfortunately I just looked and for me it's really too expensive by airplane (~400 E by individual) and too long by road (more than 14H)...
So I guess i would have to follow the event via Internet

sorry to ear this, but if you come with Ryanair (www.ryanair.com) you spend more less than 400 euro

bye Henry

@all requesting other "clues"

I'm not going to post more clues due to negativity. If i change my mind, you will read a topic called New hardware clue number 2.

Sorry to hear that amico mio but I wouldn't take it too seriously, there will always be people who either don't believe anymore or they just want to annoy whoever makes an effort.

I believe in it, as I believed in so many other projects before, so I will wait impatiently for the Show Report and maybe more pics of the blonde girl (Sam)...

Don't blame you. Do like a lot of others are doing lately and chat in the IRC channel #amigaworld instead.

IMHO the whole "nudge-nudge-wink-wink" thing was a bad idea to begin with. It bugs the hell out of me when bbrv does it, and seeing the same sort of thing coming from someone else doesn't make it any better. I'll just wait until the show report to get some solid info, which is what we need at this stage.

Are you actually handling the PR for this new hardware development? I'm trying to work out if you're beta testing this new system or what? If so then this is not the best way to generate interest from a bunch of people that have basically been lead along for quite some time now. Best part of 12 years? Yes I think that's right.

Anyone who dares to attempt to suggest there is new hardware coming will be hit by negativity. Anyone who does not yet understand this does not understand the current state of the customer base.

The only thing that will fight against that negativity is a concrete 'real' system that is available for people to buy backed with a strong investment plan. Without this everything looks exceedingly comical.

Dang, now I need a ticket to Italy as well...

We'll have to consider organizing something similar for AmiWest as well. It would be nice to receive some direct feedback from OS4 developers and share our experiences.
