Well, it's an improvement on the MS Paint efforts. At least it's a real photo.

Only passive components - not much to go on though;
Is it a new Shark?

Or is it a real photo?

Gotta love those obsessed with photos. BoXeR had a whole bunch of photos. Made all the difference didn't it...

Hell there were working examples of the A2601 PPC card for the A2000, the amiJoe card (400mhz PPC card for the 1200), that thing from DCE that let you turn an A500 into an A1200.

I'm not in the least bit amused or impressed by tiny shots of board architecture.

Either put up or shut up, I say.

The only "clue" that we need is if any of this hardware is licensed for OS4 and if there are any ongoing efforts to adapt OS4 (final?) for it. Everything else would be just the same as showing an Apple G4 mainboard on an Amiga-show but calling it "Samantha".

In the current situation, anybody looking for some appreciation could show some 3rd party evaluation mainboard (Troika anyone?) and the OS4-community would drool over it.

Hmm, now I shall probably get flamed for this, is it not possible for some clever soul to patch OS4 so that it can be made to run from a pegasos or PPC MAC?

Then those good folks over at Hyperion could release it, we could buy whatever hardware we liked, install the patch and run it without having to concern ourselves with Eyetech's antics and, hopefully, without Hyperion breeching any silly contractual clauses.

@DarkGlobe

I should be possible if you backwards engineered the OS4 HAL and device drivers for these boards. I think it would be a lot of work and it's unlikey anyone will do it. Also Hyperion can only release a standalone version for classics and by that time we will have hardware anyway.

There is no need for a patch because we will soon get *real Amiga-Inc-approved hardware* (TM). There are many companies working hard on such hardware, which will surely be much more advanced than any of the unproven and expensive hardware designs such as Mac Mini and Pegasos. A further advantage will be that this hardware will be *specifically designed to run OS4*! Luckily, there won't be many other OS available for it, that's why everybody *has to run OS4* and won't run XP anymore. Very clever, isn't it?
Further to this, there are many upcoming embedded devices that are targeted to run OS4. My colleague at Hongkong ET Tech will be presenting one very exciting example of such a device on Pianeta Amiga. I guess you already read about the rumours concerning the "OS4-on-a-stick" that was recently featured on Slashdot.
I am happy to exclusively show you a first clue (clue #1, next to follow in 2 weeks) of the PCB layout of the stick.
