I should think it's obvious by now that the disappearance of

this OS4 site hosted by Hyperion

is due to some nuance of the Amiga Inc and Hyperion negotiations over OS4.

Lets hope it does not follow the example of this site.

According to the brothers (in a recent irc chat and probably elsewhere as well) it's due to server problems.

I know it's tempting to make up conspiracy theories but this is not much of a mistery.

Ya know, if Amiga really does pull a "Phoenix", what in the world will we all actually talk about from then on. It's been the soap-opera conspiracy-theory center of the computer world for the past decade around here. Some how I would miss it and at the same time be glad it's over.

I look forward to new issues to argue about.

Maybe, but I can't think of how.

Maybe Hyperion is about to sell all assets to KADE, then to HTEC to be purchased by Hyperion of Deleware, who owe Amiga Inc nothing, idonno.

Haha, if you can't make up a good conspiracy theory then better let someone else do it!

Heh. Good one. Well, the obligations duck and dive worked nicely for Amiga, Inc./KMOS/Amiga, Inc. so why shouldn't Hyperion follow suit? It'd just be too beautifully ironic to work, I suppose.

Well...

it still works to just write:
http://www.hyperion-entertainment.biz
and then click on "amiga"

so its probebly just a conf problem with the "os4." part. (i had similar problems with my own domain)

@zmurf

It's not the same site/content, though.

It seems very unlikely to me that "server problems" are the reason the os4 site is still down. Even my budget-plan sites are never off line more than a few hours at a time and my own modest skills are enough to get at least some form of a web site back up within the same day. I assume if Hyperion wanted their OS4 content to be on line, they could've gotten it back up very quickly.

Of course it's still possible that it's only coincidence their OS4 content went off line just as the ownership argument with Amiga, Inc. was becoming known....

Could have also been a hamster that bit through the network cable.

@Colin_Camper

I can assure you that the downtime of the OS 4 site has absolutely nothing to do with "some nuance of the Amiga Inc and Hyperion negotiations over OS 4". It is simply a matter of not being able to take care of the problems we had with the site due to working on OS 4 all the time.

The site will be back in due time.

Sorry to burst consiprative bubbles here, but no, the site is down simply because I need to take care of it (I did most of the webpage programming) and I am very busy at the moment with OS 4, so I have to prioritize and the web site didn't receive a high enough priority.

You fellows amaze me. Hyperion didn't have any idea what was in that 25 questions (or answers) by Bill, so it would take a lot of precognition to know when to take down the site...

Especially considering that the MAIN site www.hyperion-entertainment.biz was down at the exact same time, and for quite a few days too, plus had some download issues later on... It doesn't take much imagination to think that there was *really* a problem with the web server, but then, making up conspiracy theories was always more interesting, right?

Speaking of which, the wildest consipracy theory I ever heard was that there is supposedly a "snack bar" for aliens under Washington/Dulles airport...

I heard about that one too! Also, that they make their burrgers out of recycled children from the run down areas & "problems spots". The world truly is a crazy place.

Oh dear, you are also contracted as a webmaster by Hyperion? You surely can't complain of being laid off.
I always thought that Patrick Ceuppens was taking care of that?
