That is correct. The Amy'05 (still just a designated model number)
was analyzed by the few hardware professionals we have in this
community. JohannaK for example. I'm sure noone here can argue
what she says about hardware design..

Why not?

I don't know her or what she does for a living. Everything could be just BS
for all I know. That's the trouble with forums and when talking to people
on the net generally.

Note I'm NOT defending Amy or Troika!!!

@ironfist

Joanna has always been pretty critical of anything by Amiga Inc or its partners, so she's not exactly an unbiased source. On the other hand, Jens Schoenfeld, who makes Classic addons and so doesn't really care one way or the other, did not seem terribly impressed either.

@CodeSmith

Perhaps she had the right reasons to be critical... bas anyhow, it has much more to do with the content, and she knows what she talks about...

Not always. She (literally) bought into what Amiga, Inc. was selling to devs at the beginning but was put off by the subsequent bungling and failure to deliver, IIRC. Since then she's been skeptical about empty words and so on. As far as bias is concerned, she also got into the Pegasos reseller program when it was being formed but jumped out when Genesi didn't meet expectations, and hasn't been shy about criticizing that side either, so it seems to me her reactions are pretty much what you'd expect of an engineer rather than a flag-waver with an agenda.

Anyway, of course anyone can take issue with another person's technical evaluations, but were there any counterarguments to hers or Tig's, etc.?

Yes, some by olegil. He didn't defend it right off but counter argumented on some
of the points mentioned. If I remember correctly.. Have not reread it for this post.

@ssolie
"Twisting the knife" was not my intention (and I don't even see how I did that - perhaps you could explain in a PM?) - I merely mentioned the reason ACK had given for not posting any pics, given that I gave an (IMHO) more reasonable motivation.

edit: As ssolie hasn't bothered to PM me, I assume he changed his mind about what I said. Pity he couldn't say so publically.

Joanna used to design embedded PPC products for a small company here in Finland.

Am i missing something here? Why are some of you people happy about an update where he says there will be no update until it is ready to ship?
There is no info here... No info on if he got OS4 license, no info about even working prototypes, no info about if porting work has started... there absolutely nothing new other than that he broke his "promise" of announcing something, which is not a good thing in my eyes.
