That was his father, who passed away shortly thereafter.
Frankly, I'm not sure it's appropriate to drag personal issues into this discussion.

Understood.
Hopefully the brief recap just serves as a reminder to those who don't know.

@Framiga

I think it is the same. The comparison matches. To both you send stuff and you don't get it back even after complaining.
If ACK already does this now it won't be different in the future so it's maybe better to not have him the Amiga business then.

Isn't it obvious that he repaired your boards and sold them?

That's what I would do if my intentions were to screw my
customers over..

Maybe you should post your serial numbers in a topic and
ask around for "stolen" hardware.

Unless you have some facts to add about the situation, quit spamming the thread!

No it's not so quit with the rumors. There are ppl here that know Adam personally & are trying to find a solution to the problem. Your post will only make the problem harder to solve.

I may not agree with your communications style on AW, but you do seem to be a smart guy. I'll make you a deal, you delete your post & I'll delete my reply.

Exactly, so quit acting like a broken record, it was trolling!

I was, along with others, a strong supported of Adam & his projects, but there comes a time when you stop believing. For me, that was the beginning of the year.

Never the less, you, me, or anyone else has no right to flame another man because he dreamed & failed.

Simple, you don't know all tha facts & it could jeopardize a solution with ppl getting their h/w back. Flaming Adam isn't going to help. For all I know, nothing will help, but give it a chance.

I will stop saying this about ACK if you tell everyone you see
bashing DCE/Phase5/bPlan about missing PPC-cards, the same.

Send me PM with links to your posts.

@ironfist

I say keep bashing ACK because I will not stop bashing DCE over my PPC board. In fact the bad taste they left caused me to pass on the Pegasos. In retrospect Genesi stood behind the boards themselves so it was probably a bad descision, but I could not help fearing history repeating. In fact I would have to commend Genesi in their support, I hope anyone that comes out with AOS hardware does the same in contrast to Eyetech.

I know nothing about DCE or your problems. You can flame ACK all you want, just stop posting stupid rumors about Adam selling other ppls h/w when you don't have a clue.

The difference being you have not lost a board to either.. No?
Then I can't see WHY you have to bash ACK because others that have lost boards
to Phase5/DCE do???
You're just trolling if you do just because you want.

I do not condone any boards not sent back to the customers by the dealers.
But I have not got the background information on this and what ACK or DCE has to
say about this. So I really don't have an opinion on the matter.

The problems surrounding DCE and the PPC boards is very well documented. It is well known that there were large numbers of CSPPC and BPPC boards sent to DCE for repair that were never returned to their respective owners (repaired or otherwise).

Even BBRV acknowledged the fact that there were lots of boards with DCE, and BB posted on several occasions here and elsewhere that Genesi had intervened to get some of those boards returned to their respective owners.

I know personally a couple of people that sent boards to them for repair. One got their board back after 1 and a half years of phoning, nagging and emails, only to have it die within a month. The other board has never been seen since being received by DCE. And contacting them was proving to be a problem as after some months they refused to respond to messages enquiring as to the status of the board - especially after the owner had been told it was going to be with them soon - and several months later it was not.

It is also not common practice to personally attack or attempt to defame an individual in the manner you implied. Indeed comments along those lines are very much out of line (see the Terms of Service for the site).

@number6

I'm not sure what relationship Adam had with Livewire Systems, but from my understanding, he wasn't the guy that either owned it or ran it. The bloke that did was out of Ottawa, Ontario. He ran his business part time from him home a few blocks away from mine. He later moved accross to river to Gatineau, Quebec and then eventually closed the business down, about a year ago. To my knowledge, Adam's business was always ACK Software Controls.

Saddly, the experiences posted here with regards to dealings with Adam are very indicative of what I have both experienced personally and heard from others in the community. Like someone else said, after much nagging with many unanswered e-mails, one might eventaully get something delivered in the mail, without any explanation or appologies.
