@ChrisH

/me pokes ChrisH and smiles

Look... I just want to focus on THESE two boards, that's all, ok? Chatting about what things these boards have or don't have is absolutely fine, as long as we keep it on topic about these two Troika boards.

I am interested to see what arises because... I have never SEEN the boards, nor have I seen screenshots or images or anything. They could be made of gingerbread with gumdrops and royal icing connections, for all I know...

U wanna stay in topic?
Okay!

In my opinion both boards are vaporware.
Nobody has seen a runable board from this "company". Only specs and some shots of a relabeled UDTech board but that's not their work.

Seems to be the same with the famously Shark of Elbox. Nevertheless Elbox has released some good products in the past... in contrast to Troika.

And now come on: try to prove the opposite! :P

@DaFreak

I could bet they had prototype fey years ago, but situation with getting the OS4 license from AINC made them give up.

Now, we can ask our self why they claim that they have sent boards to Hyperion and Rogue claims they didn't...

After all, if they have board now, theoretically, they could rebuild it (if some components arn't available on the market today=, and send it to Hyperion... but...

If they gave up few years ago, I don't think they will gather same team to work on the project again. Few years are big period in business....

-FF isn't a must. A modern browser is a must, OWB is getting better everytime. For example i won't use FF over Safari or other browsers too.

-OO this sound right, it is the best open solution for an office suite. It requires an incredible amount of work.

-Java sucks. But it is needed for some things.

-Flash is the stupidiest thing happened in computer world after Microsoft. mp4 and css animationare a solution for most flash uses.

Anyway the only thing you show is: you don't have a clue aout coding and a niche market like Amiga. You can do 2 things to support Amiga, buy a SAM or start coding OO. Less words, more works... amigappc lol.

@Thread
I will believe after Hyperion announce it or i see a prototype booting an OS, anyway i wish Troika good luck and good work on their project.

@AmiKit

Can someone please contiunue Magelan development?

Can someone buy it out (rights and any work in progress)
since it looks like they really contracted and obtained
rights, at least from their statement ?!

Is there a possibility that GP software recieves
SAM, OS4 and OS4 development kit and
finish it, if community makes petition how
many 20 euros copies community would buy?

Some ideas, someone,
would love to use it in 2009.

Its much worse news than no Panda and Troika,
(which was a bit obvious if compared to deadlines
the designers commited is not 1st or last hardware
project to be scraped).

So sad, like to hear no Octamed anymore.

Vojin

Whats wrong with Java?

It is more or less everywhere these days, except on AmigaOS. (We lack a GUI).

@tomazkid

What's wrong with Java? Microsoft doesn't control it, ergo they don't like it and have done everything in their power to prevent its evolution.
If Microsoft had adopted Java, we would see it a lot more widespread (and probably better implemented) today.

From the MED Sound Studio site..

Alfred Faust (BarsnPipes fame) is now busy working on the next Amiga version

I make no promises as to a release date but I can assure you that Alfred will keep
me informed as to it's progress and I will, in turn, post any progress news here.
So you never know..
