When I contributed to the Amizilla bounty, I was paying for aport of Mozilla/Firefox. Not something else. Not something almost as good. Not something better. I paid for Mozilla/Firefox. I do not want to get anything other than that for my money, or I want my money back. IMNSHO
Thank you, that's exactly why I donated. The real deal or no deal... _________________

What's stopping those who feel that the bounty is going nowhere to actually talk with the bounty keeper? Wouldn't it be the right step towards their motifs? Why the need for others jumping on the bandwagon? _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga |

How much has been contributed to OWB so far in donations??? Any ideas? Is this being tracked? IMHO the tracking of donations for OWB should be publicly visible.
PS: Any instructions on how to run / install on AmiKet on WinUAE? Last edited by meet.mrnrg on 28-Jan-2009 at 05:19 PM.

| We should take all the money and hire some indian programmers to port the intire mozilla package. I'm sure the amount of dollars the bounty have gathered would make them work like maniacs!
Give them a SAM board and os4.1 - hold up the carrot and just wait and see
but the new swedish devsupport could also make them come to good use, and get firefox ported....perhaps. Last edited by Hondo on 28-Jan-2009 at 05:35 PM.

I wonder where all the earned interest on this money has gone all of these years?

So you are saying all programmers of Indian descent happily work for peanuts? Amiga Development India dosen't seem to produce anything. _________________ Pegasos2 G3 running AOS 4.1 and MorphOS 2.0 Amikit user, tinkering with Icaros VM (AROS) EFIKA owner Amiga 1200 |

Sputnik bounty money. http://amigabounty.net/index.php?function=viewcomments¬eid=21&full=true
I haven't heard anybody complaining about the money being re-distributed.
So it made me think of AmiZilla again.... http://www.amizilla.net/ http://amizilla.sourceforge.net/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmiZilla
Correct me if I'm wrong, still no updates right?
Well finally I have to admit, the money from the project could be better spent! Mainly because of the successful handling of the Sputnik bounty closure.
OWB is doing great, and no-amount of money or publications seems to be enough for AmiZilla right now! Lets hope sometime in the future it will re-surface... Last edited by meet.mrnrg on 09-May-2009 at 03:33 AM.

| I contributed to this bounty and would really like to see Firefox on my A1 & Pegasos computers. Firefox is my default browser on Windows and Linux systems. I also contributed towards Sputnik and was happy for the funds to be reallocated elsewhere where the Sputnik OS4 project was shelved.
OWB & Netsurf are both improving, almost daily, with several flavours being developed. I suppose the real questions should be:-
Is anyone actually working on a Firefox port for any version of "Amiga" computers? If yes how close are we to seeing a port of the solftware? If the answer is no, then perhaps the bounty and allocation or return of the funds should be reconsidered? Just MHO.

Sputnik bounty was different because in that case there was only one person able to complete the bounty because Sputnik is closed source and he wasn't interested in doing the port. Also not as many people had contributed money to the bounty which probably made it a lot easier to return the money to those people that didn't want their money redirected to another bounty.
Personally I couldn't care less about a FireFox port now that we have OWB. |

| I haven't read the thread in full, but I'd just like to add one simple point: I don't think anyone believes the project will really be completed, but they want to hold onto the dream..

Everyone who asked for a refund of their donations got that.
The remaining money was forwarded to other developers, like you can see on amigabounty.net
Regarding the AmiZilla bounty I think... Well I don't know what to think anymore. Perhaps we will get it someday, perhaps not? Don't think the bounty makes any difference to be honest.

| I dont understand why this bounty hasnt been stopped already. It should have had some kind of deadline from the very start. Seems to me like the money are lost since nothing will ever come out of this project. |

But there is no progress? But i guess you will be happy with the money being lost for nothing? It has been 3 years now since the last update....Last edited by Tomas on 09-May-2009 at 02:34 PM.

Shouldn't the poll be restricted to those who donated to the original?
If so I agree.

true... perhaps again, just the individual investors can be allowed to re-allocate the money! _________________ Quote:
