My AmigaAMP works now.

It seems that now I have tuneNet, TKPlayer, SimplePlay and AmigaAMP to choose from. That is Awesome.

Now I have to work out how to get Digital almanac 3 working, it keeps freezing with a software error requesting a particular font.

Anyone know how to fix this error?

Haha, errrrrrrrrrrrrm, mmmmmm, NO.

But it is better than the freezing of my whole system when placing a song into the list and pushing play.

Its nice to have four musik programs to choose from, and one of them even searches for radio stations for you, like TuneNet ofcourse.

Do you know of any other music type playing programs I can try and test out?

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo,

I tried starting my Wookiechat, as always, but this time, I could not connect to any servers??? Why.

It did not even have a list of potential servers to connect to, and yes, my internet connection stil works, as I was able to browse the net, and use sabreMSN still.

I NEED my wookiechat, for AROS help from time to time with Nik, Deadwood, and Geit.

What to do???

I re-installed it, 2.10 version, and still no links.

How can I fix this?? Its like, since my friend used partition wizard on my system(which I personally have never used, or had the need to) my wookie is gone?

Can anybody get my freenode back for me out there?

Another slight bother is, that I do not know how to fix Digital Almanac to get it to work on os4.1

It's not a freeze, it's a yellow alert. It's the fault of OS4 still disabling multi-tasking during the yellow alerts and your SAM using USB. That combination will render the alert to be stuck on screen. You need PS/2 to get rid of it. Still surprised they kept it in. The replaced the red gurus (AFAIK) and software alerts with a grim reaper but...

Does it want a font or a glymph?

Term does the same for me. I think it is the OS complaining. Try this, when it pops up. hold left mouse button down and wait ten seconds. It works for reset so should for mouse.

You got no errors reinstalling? I did and had to do it by hand. Simply drag the new dir over the old one or just copy all the files across somehow. Without replacing your settings files.

Maybe its coz your on an A1, different architecture CPU wise no?

Either way, For some reason my new AroS doesnot automatically come up with the dockie or calendar??/

So I am re-installing the extras only for now, trying it, then going to re-install the cre, trying it, ad if all odds fails, may have to chuck in the nightly builds one and try it that way.

Also, I got four web browsers on my SAM440EP, Ibrowse, Aweb, OWB and NetSuf.

Does ANYONE know of another web browser I could try, as i was unable to upload a picture via OWB via GUI wise. One has to type in some HTTP command or something, and I am not at all familiar with that.

Installed ubuntu again on the same machine and hard drive that AROS was using, and did not wipe off AROS, instead, used the remaining space on the hard drive.

My problem now is, it wont duel boot??

But when in linux, linux itself recognisez two other used partitions?

SO I have four partitions in total, two for aros, and two for ubuntu, EXt3 and Swap file.

Do I need to modify something in the BIOS to be able to select which OS to get into to?

Or is it within the Linux OS itself that I need to change something?

You shouldn't to modify the BIOS. If that way above is too hard you could just try reinstalling AROS bootloader from the CD. It looks like it picks up Windows easier than Linux.

Has anyone out there tried to run Digital Almanac 3 on os4 type machine? Anyone?

Also, AmigaAMP works accept for the usualy on exit DSI thing.

I have tested a lot of gear recently, and have decided to place it into a Listing, at the moment it will be a tad unsorted, apart from:

Software

No go Software

Games

No Go Games

Now, bear in mind, most of these have had limited tampering to either get them to work, or they simply dont work after the little tampering.

I am sure some more hard core nuts, may be able to reprogram a couple of lines here and there, and get a few in the NO section, to work nicely.

it is good to support amiga dev. So I decided to get some older gear here, while its still easily obtainable, and to hopefully have a nice little collection of software on my desk, rather than a blank bench, with a few items on it, such as s4.1 box and feeble files.

I am planning to obtain, somehow, monkey island 3, sam and max, and various others to try out like homeworld, bermuda syndrome, Duke nukem 3d, Hexen 2 to try on os4, Jagged alliance,

I have no mouth, & I must scream(try it on os4)
The ledgend of Kyrandia : Book two : and of fate, as well as
The ledgend Of Kyrandia ; Book Three : Malcolm's Revenge
to try both on OS4

Lets explore the airport with buzzy : to test again on os4

Moonbases (which should work)
Myst (test on os4)

Open transport tycoon when I get a chance

All these would be nice to find out if they work or do not work on os4. Some like OTT should work as they are meant for OS4 users. Others that are eant for RTG should work, but not many know or have tested it seems if they do work on OS4.

Still have not managed to get Digital Almanac Working properly.

The left mouse button idea is inventive, but that does not help to get into the program.

Where can I obatin amiga type fonts from?

AND

ALmost completed with testing stuff for now for the Listing.

Will however in future test many other programs and games that most likely wont work to begin with, but those that do out of the testing phases, will be on the LIsting also.

But the game nees to be set up. From the Setup icon. OS4 Installer complains about a line. Looking at the setup file it look hard to figure out. Locating an old V45 68k Installer may be the trick to getting the setup icon to work.

As the current maintainer of AmiFTP I use that, and feel very comfortable with it. In the end I think it all comes down to personal preference, just use what you like. In that sense there are no best options.

Awesome, that is like saying they are all best options.

AmiFTP, I will try this also. Apparently, PFTP can have a tendancy to crash. I will find out in due time, when using it more often in near future.

Your WookieChat might have a missing servers.txt file.
You can copy this file over from the archive, or you can add servers manually within WookieChat.

One freenode server is:
name: irc.freenode.net
port: 6667

The WookieChat installer script preserves the existing servers.txt file. Well, its supposed to at least, so you dont overwrite any of your existing settings and servers.
