When I went to use it, it was all there again.

However, since then, I have aquired some type of information for the duel booting of the new AROS and Ubuntu.

I have been wondering if anybody can give me a link to get Rise of the triads for my os4.1 machine.

Also want to know, as forementioned, I ave homeworld, but I do not have the MOS patch to have it working via RTG. I was namely wanting to try the Morph patch for Homeworld on my Amiga OS4.1, to see if I can get it working.

Also will be trying red alert, transport tycoon, Heroes of might and magic 2,

and I am planning to try to obtain to the datafiles to try out Duke Nkem 3d.

where the amiga community could help me even moreso again, would be on th following titles, as in, where to obtain them from : (this may save heaps of searching time for some titles)

Open transport tycoon not working, got all the files, then give me DSI not long after ISI,and am forced to reboot.

Duke Nukem does not wish to load up, but I have the files in there.

How does one use Heroes of might and magic, with the extension .nrg??????

ANd lastly,

Amiga Future Mag 75 with cover cd, my amiDVD is stating the Zombie Massacre CD.iso is not a cd image???

Ultimate Gloom from that same cover cd, was recognized as an .iso image. However, alas, it read, read, and read, but nothing comes up onto my workbench????

PRINTER STILL NOT WORKING
selected usb device, selected postscript. then tried HP. No Go. Man, with postscript I could even select an epson from pagestream or amig writer

HOWEVER

It did look like it printed from Amiga writer, but yet, no paper printed?? But it did load a print??

Webcam?? Downloaded sonix, but I have a creative labs webcam.

How can I get my webcam working, so I can use skype with my people living in germany.

I would like to try and talk to them, and while talking, be able to view them via webcam.

P.S. I also have scanner capabilties from the printer, it is a printer scanner. I downloaded the scanner zip, and have already downloaded the windows .exe driver for the printer. However have not as yet atempted to try and make use of these. I believe I am stuck, if I need a windows system, to be able to get the driver file. As I no longer have my xp shet box in a working state.

Try the Epsom drivers next.

And no printer errors? Strange. Actually, try using the generic driver and then printing some simple text. Like from NotePad.

Does it have card slots? Stick a card in the slot. Tell the printer to scan to card. Read JPG file on Sam. Easy.

Well, I downloaded the Epson drivers, but er, they need a windows machine, as the are executable??

However tha scanner is in zip fromat, but after unzipping, exe.

Is there anything like a tool that allows me to read an exe file, and simply copy what I want from it across to my drivers drawer.

This would also help me with exe files fom games, so I can retrieve their respective datafiles that are needed.

Oh sorry I meant the Amiga Epsom drivers, sitting in SYS:Storage/Printers.

Don't worry about drivers for the scanner, just operate it by hand and scan to a flash card. Quicker that way. I can scan on my Mac, but it has to stuff around and load the software, then I have to tell it what part to scan. By itself the scanner is more intelligent and faster, as it can work what section to scan and saves it as a file for me. Being that my printer also acts as a USB hub any card I plug into it comes up on the Workbench. So it can scan to a file and then I just read it afterwards. And examine the huge file too big for my screen in MultiView.

Don't worry about them. They contain Windows files that are useless on the Amiga. You need Amiga drivers.

Canon used to support Amiga, through a 3rd party but probably not anymore. I did get some success searching for "Amiga" on their site once.

Does it have an icon? If so open it in Info and increase the stack size. Add a 0 if not too large.

AFAIK you don't have to worry about that. Just follow the copying instructions on the OS4Depot readme.

Free_Heroes_2 is the directory it is in I assume?

Run it from the CLI to see if any errors come up. Drag it's drawer into a shell window. Press return to CD to it and then run it.

OK, amiga epson drivers, will try tonight.

I am not sure if I can just scan without a driver, but I suppose I can see if I have this option available to me, But I doubt this will work for me.

It can run out of stack and overwrite it.

Not to the program but in the CLI you can see it;s output and any error messages. That's why I suggested CLI. Did it give any clues?

I got Heroes Of Might and magic 2 working, which is nice.

Again, can the person who made this possible, do it for Heroes Of Might And Magic 5 or 6??

Also, I mamged to get a megazeux type game running, and have just come to realise that some of my listed software in the Listings as No Go, need to be rechecked if they were not intended to be used with Megazeux in mind.

I try to avoid snoopy, but I have noticed it can tell me what is going on from time to time, even if I have the lack of knowledge to fix it.

much knowledge has been gained in the past 4 months.

I also have bad news, alinea computer sent my massive order via ship, which means they made a mistake, and it will take my order a few months to arrive. :(

thats not good, as I was hoping to setup webcam and skype.

Yes, easiest thing is to look for a FAIL and see what file name it points too.

Yes now I know it may not be until march april that i recieve my gear.

PLease explain then, how I can use my current Creative labs webcam with skype, and I will give it a go.

I do not think it will work without the webview software, if it even works with webview software that is. It is an older webcam though.

As for skype, I would not mind having a link for amiga users to be able to use skype with a webcam, and be able to talk with some family over in germany with skype and webcam, but they will ofcourse be using the sheep system, Windoze.

Does anyone have a link to the required datafiles of various games, such as red alert? As my current red alert cd's, my amiga is unable to retrieve the required data, and my pc is not in a working order.

I was in the hope of avoiding the use of the pc xp, and also not wanting to have to get a new powersupply for it, just so I can get the required files for red alert.

Is there a program for amiga that can read exe files, so I can copy or extract what I want or need for the game to work under the red alert port?

OpenLibrary() is a lib. Open() is a file. Lock() is also a file/dir.

Possibly won't return reason as this is stored private the the process.

I can't! But I did see someone use a web cam with an Amiga 4000 once at a show. how would the old ones connect?

I take it you downloaded the file from the FTP server listed in the OS4Depot readme and it didn't work for you?

EDIT:
Just installed this. ORA has very poor instructions and really needs an install script like Stratagus at least. It's very vague. I had to find all the #?.mix files on the first CD where ever they were and copied them to the ORA directory. Then it worked.
