I'm all right with you, but for we are real, the Efika doesn't work with the OS 4.1 except one version very light because with the Sam of 553 some programs and games need more speed, as the SDL programs and games and the 400 Mhz, umm, I don't know, if we can enjoy much with our Efika.

Yes, you have right i have written this on every thread, and yes i have thinked about it.. the problem is not about the user base or about the hw where amiga os is running. The question is if we, that have bought a sam, could see an update for the sam ( or the final version ) or, now that there is the PegII version, we can put away the sam as there is " new " hardware that, at appareance is more pleased and desired from someone..
That's all.. but as you said before, there is no need to continue telling the same things..

Hope that the facts will speak for them...

See you..

Sorry, but when you pay about 900 euro for a sam with amiga os 4.1 and instead of seeing update for this new hardware you see that os4 has been ported to other machine.. trust me.. you are a little bit altered.

There is no reason to get wound up. The issues on the SAM version are nothing that I can do except for the Warp3D issue, which I do not know yet whether it actually IS a Warp3D issue. All the other stuff is NOT in my hand, and I was the one doing most of the work on the Pegasos II version.

Now that the Pegasos version is finished, I have one other project to finalize before I go to see about that Warp3D issue, but in the meantime, work is going on on the SAM version. The Pegasos II version did not delay anything.

@nubechecorre

Please read #23 above. As I pointed out, the release of the SAM version was in no way affected by the Pegasos II version. You could have gotten this information easily by writing me an email or PM, but you chose to rather spam every thread about the Pegasos II release with off-topic posts.

I note that both in the "news" thread and the forum thread you mention Peg 1 as an option, but desire some accurate feedback.
Would it be of any benefit to you to have AW construct a "xoops" [poll], where results would be far more accurate than a forum [poll]?
If so, would you like to relay the text entries for such a [poll] to AW that would best help to get you the answer you desire?
I could try to supplement such results through some personal contacts.

If this is something not to consider at this time, I still think the idea of information gathering NOW is crucial, along the lines of "striking while the iron is hot", while the idea is firmly in the minds of those discussing it.

Had to vote no on this one! Don't get me wrong I already have an Efika with MorphOS2.2 installed, and I am all for choice--- but the low end Amiga OS4.1 market is already well catered for by the SAM 440 system and I'm not sure that the work necessary to port OS4.1 to the Efika would justify the expense? Just MHO though.

I do have a Pegasos II that runs, MorphOS2.2/MOLK (Mac on linux), OS4.1 & Ubuntu. Have to say that OS4.1 is very speedy on the PegII.

It's sad to see that some people seem to think that the world is turning around them, just because they have bought a SAM. Did it ever occure to this people that the PEG 2 port maybe is already started/done for years and that it was actually the SAM who delayed the PEG 2 port?
I can imagine that Acube wouldn't have been to happy when Hyperion would have released this before or at the same moment as the release for SAM.

Erm...there is no FPGA connector anymore on new SAMs

I don't quite understand why having the OS run on more boards is a bad thing ?!

Especially with current economic conditions I wonder how many can justify current price of SAM?OS package versus Linux or generic Windows at big-box store ?

Besides,(and MOST important) I already have efika

Did I say that's a bad thing ?

I have wife .. I can not justify spending 1000 euros while having computers that seem to run fine in my wife's opinion

Sorry,I meant that as a general comment.Yours just happened to be the latter posts in the discussion.

I can fully understand your wife or even yourself questioning the need to buy a $1000 computer unless important new benefits result.

Amiga is ,for most of us,a hobby,a diversion,entertainment,...it is not the tool by which we earn our daily bread;it is up to each to decide if they have $1000 or what sum to spend on toys.(Big ice storm here took down my electric wires, and badly damaged a memorial tree.Lucky my mini-van was saved from being crushed by wires catching tree!Toy budget will be reduced this year.I am sure same or worse happens to other people. It is all about priorities.)

Myself,I cannot, this year. But I almost certainly would buy a full featured Amiga OS at reasonable price.I hope for new lower MorphOS registration until then, efika runs the demo version and reboots often!

I can create a poll on the front page, but naturally it is going to require members to vote honestly if they have a Peg-1, and not just having members voting for the sheer sake of it.

I have some real world #s to use that might be somewhat of a hedge against that.
But, for the time being, this was just an offer on my part.
It's probably better etiquette to let management decide whether such an information gathering [poll] would be useful to them or not.
If so, they may contact staff directly. dunno.

Edit: ok. I see you have a [poll] on the right side of the AW front page.
sorry if my post overlapped what you were doing.

No need to apologise. I created the poll in part because of your posting, and because it made sense to have a go at trying to get some form of opinion from the peg 1 owners of this site.

Oh I hope it's an Intel ATOM port. If I could run OS4 on my HP 1035NR that would be so awesome. Yep, the HP Mini 1000s are sweet. I have an SSD, 2GB ram, 128MB dedicated video ram, etc. I got mine for $399 US. Love it. Runs WinUAE FAST for now.
