| @Amigo1 I do appear to have made some changes since the last beta release (probably not much since it's been working fine for me!)... but I haven't made any more releases (beta or otherwise) since there wasn't much feedback from anyone actually using it, plus I've been busy with PortablE & other programming projects.
FWIW, at some point I want to add a GUI. Last edited by ChrisH on 17-Jan-2011 at 04:40 PM.

It is just what I was looking for these days! I want an up-to-date volume, between the A4000 & SamFlex (and AmiKit lately), so this should be awesome! Looking forward to use it
P.S. How compares to Cloanto's DirDiff?Last edited by Cass on 17-Jan-2011 at 07:35 PM.

| @ChrisH Hi Chris I am still somehow interested... the last beta I tested, had issues over Samba Network (I reported that to you). But currently I am very bussy with other things (iBatch 1.2), installing AmigaForever/AROS on my Notebook, polishing my Windows Install on the Notebook as well... So I donnot have the time to betatest. If I have time again, I will do a bit of testing because it will help me to keep files on my Windows/AmigaForever/SAM and A1200 MP3 MediaBox in Sync. I will contact you. If you did not write a GUI up to then I might take over that part...

Unfortunately I cannot get Samba to work with Windows Vista, so I can't test/fix this. (Would surely be easy, as I got FolderSync1 to work over Samba IIRC.)
It does however work fine with FTP Mount (which is not as good as Samba, but it does the job)._________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

| At some point I plan to have AOS3, AOS4, MOS and AROS computers running for my computation needs.
My use for this tool would be to sync files of the computer that I start using, with the files that are mainly stored on a intranet share (Lacie drive in our home intranet). And after I've finished, sync again to continue on another day on another Amigalikethingy. In that way I might end up with less conflicts (or broken files) when compared to editing files on the shared drive directly...?
So far our main computer runs Ubuntu and this foldersync2 would be usefull also for Linux...
me thinking in loud: And it seems that we will have a Ubuntu machine also handling our DVB-T recordings and I should set some simple way to batch the needed (separately selected) shows/movies to be converted to mpeg4 and then copied (moved) to safer shared place. But for that some simpler than foldersync could/should be used.... Anyone got some suitable Hollywood coding project ongoing (or already in usable phase)? I know hollywood generated executables run well in wine, but perhaps ... when I have set my hobbies straight, AROS (or MOS or AOS4) has all I need and I could then replace Ubuntu, etc.... | 6 years ago I got a removable harddisk. It contains a full backup of all my MorphOS partitions. If my main HD fails I just need to push my backup drive into the frame und have my fully working system up and running. I did a full copy once and since then synchronize my backup using FolderSync twice a week. It takes justa few minutes even though there are est.300.000 files on my disk.
FolderSync does a really good job for me, and I'm eager to see the release of its successor !
