@Derfs

Sorry I didn't make my last post very clear. What I meant was is there any chance that an agp version rather than a pci version of an X1550 (for example) would work on a PegII with Hans driver? I would presume not but I thought I'd ask anyway.

@Ruud

i understood what you meant. for now Hans is only asking for betatesters with PCI versions of cards, so i take that as a no.

@Derfs

Glad I was making sense (for a change)
I too presume it's a "no" from Hans.

@Hans

Would it be possible in theory for these drivers to be adapted for OS4 classic systems with mediator busboards?

I could not find a single AGP card that can tolerate the higher voltages of an AGP 2x slot. Moreover, the AGP version is likely to be a card with an internal AGP to PCI-Express bridge (not guaranteed, but likely), so you end up with the same issue.

As Derfs said, any Radeon X1000 series or higher PCI card, should work. Right now, that's a Radeon X1300, Radeon X1550 and Radeon HD 2400. In theory you should be able to plug in a Radeon HD 3000 series, or even a Radeon HD 4000 series card. However, none of those come in a PCI version.

SAM users may need to check that the card supports 3.3V operation.

I wouldn't know for sure. If normal Amiga OS drivers can run on the mediator, then it should just run. However, the Mediator bus boards don't support DMA, so that means that the driver will have to have a non-DMA mode (when I get round to adding DMA support).

you wont find an AGP card to use for the work you are doing

Some of the last modern cards with 3.3 V support were the Nvidia GeForce FX series and the ATI Radeon 9500/9700/9800(R350) (but not 9600/9800(R360)).

People have been asking me where you can buy these cards, I've put up a page with links to a few sources. If anyone knows of other places where you can buy them, post them here, or email me the links.

I suspected this might be the case. Oh well that seems to rule the PegII out as I think all firmware updates have ceased.
I didn't consider using my SAM440ep because it's in a small case with no room for a pci card but I could swap it out for the purposes of testing

Not even room for a low profile card?

My case is only 6.5cm tall and is not designed for a riser. I could always leave the top of the case off I suppose...

I've ordered an HD2400 anyway. I'll have a play with it in the PegII to see whether I can confirm it's a firmware problem. If I get no joy with the Pegasos I'll re-house my Sam in a spare case I've got in the garage.

Radeon HD 2400 specs:

-Hardware based H.264/VC-1 decoding of Blu-ray™ and HD DVDs

How reliable is to make use of this on your drivers?
Would be cool to be able to see blue-rays on Sam

No chance. The DRM on Blu-Ray is a nightmare. See HERE.

I have a DVI to HDMI converter to hook up my SAM to my HDTV. Only the x480 works.
Despite changing settings in monitor icon tooltypes, I can't display. Is the onboard M9 Radean able to output 1080i or can the OS4 monitor driver actually do the correct output for HDMI (does it need something special to work)....would that RadeonHD driver work for M9?

The M9 should be able to output 1080i. The RadeonHD driver is for R500 and higher based cards (Radeon X1000 series and up), so no, it won't work with the M9, which uses an R2xx graphics chip.
