ps- i can't find any info about your power supply.
Have you got your Flex pre-assembled? or ...

| @Drex: I have the same issues with 1 GB RAM installed, with 512 MB they are gone (SAMflex/800)

I noticed that some people who have working SAM Flex with 1GB built their own systems and one specifically mentioned using a 300W power supply. I bought a complete system and am not sure about the size or quality of the power supply. As a result I decided to do some hardware experimentation. I disconnectd Optical drive (DVD/RW) since it seems to be the biggest thing in the system and now my graphics glitches and corruption are gone with 1G memory installed. I've only been operating for an hour or two this way but so far, so good. I need to try it for a couple of days before I draw any definite conclusions. If you are still having problems (especially graphics corruption) with 1G memory installed you can try removing the power connector from the Optical drive to see if you get any improvement. Please let us know the result if you try this.

I seem to have miss typed.
Actual it is a 400W standard atx power supply._________________ Sam460ex : Radeon Rx550 Single slot Video Card : SIL3112 SATA card |

| @Spectre660 Things just keep getting stranger for me. Further testing showed that it was disconnecting the SerialATA connector from the Optical drive that stopped the graphics corruption with 1GB memory. I can leave the power plugged in so now I'm not so sure it's a power supply issue. If I plug the Optical drive into the J22 SATA connector I get no grapics corruption with 1GB but can't boot from a CD. If I plug it into the J21 connector I can't boot from the CD and I get graphics corruption like I do on the J23 connector. I am aware that it's documented that the Optical drive must be hooked to J23 to boot from a CD and was just testing connections to see what works. It all seems to point to some hardware flaw at this point. Hopefully someone else who has had graphics corruption can confirm what I've found on my system.

It didn't say a make or anything else on the power supply apart from that model number.
All i know is its 200W.
I ordered are the parts from AmigaKit, was planning to put the system together myself, but when it turned up it was already pre-assembled.
This is the case that the power supply comes with :

Could still be a driver issue. In fact that seems most likely, since ACube aren't going to release the Flex without first testing it works (perhaps using Linux)._________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

| If i'm not mistaken, the 800mhz sam is a overclocked model, so can it be the source of those grahic glitches and overall unstability?

Probably not. Those of us with the 667 Mhz version are having the same issues.

or viceversa?
Spectre660 Flex is a 800 Mhz and he have no problems .... i hate to insist but with those "crap" (sorry AmigaKit) cheap PSU and an apparently very strict SAM requirements ...! PSUs are very important with these new motherboards

One would hope they tested it. I thought it was a power supply issue but if I just disconnect the SATA cable from the Optical drive or move it to the J22 connector with 1GB mem the grapics corruption stopped but I discovered that the video blackouts returned. It looks like I'm stuck with 512MB until they get it worked out. I hope it's a software issue because by the time we get an OS 4.1 update it may be a little late to exchange the baord._________________ X1000 with 2GB memory & OS4.1FE |

It's most likely to be a software issue because if it were hardware, nearly everyone would suffer it.
BTW, what sort of graphics cards do people have (how many MB?) who suffer and don't suffer the corruptions? Is there a connection there perhaps?

there is an easy way to test if the board is fully functional, install Linux and test the Flex with it. Just download Debian from here:
http://www.acube-systems.biz/download/debian-testing-sam440ep-CD-1.iso
If the board shows no problems (as we expect), then you have to wait for an AOS4.1 fix from Hyperion (which is under work already) In case you have the same problems with Linux too, we'll replace the board under warranty.

Is it the OS4.1 fix for Sam440EP and Sam Flex boards, right? When do you think it will be released? Last edited by kyle on 13-Jun-2009 at 01:46 PM. Last edited by kyle on 13-Jun-2009 at 01:20 PM.

| I have Sam Flex 800 with: GeCube 9250L 128MB (low profile), Vendor ID: 0x1002, Device ID: 0x5940,0x5960.
Unfortunately card don’t want to work properly. First u-boot screens are displayed properly, but once it get into VESA mode – it corrupts.
AOS4.1 installation screen (seen only once, all other tries got me a black screen) looks like: http://img20.imageshack.us/my.php?image=obraz063s.jpg Uboot in Vesa mode: http://img30.imageshack.us/my.php?image=obraz065u.jpg
I’ve already got an answer from ACube (to send them my card), but am waiting for another card that will allow me to test my board.
:EDIT: Card is able to boot up WindowsXP.

Ok, i just tought of it because the overclock thing. On the x86 world, a bad powersupply can give lots of headache, so as several have stated, check it out. Graphics glitches can occur also because of low video ram. What are the video ram on the systems tha are experimenting the glitches??

graphic glitches and 1 GB ram problem are 2 different issues (IMHO).
The first is a driver/software issue, while the second one is surely an hardware issue (most probably due a flaky PSU and/or something about the motherboard firmware).
