| @klx300r Talk about different taste I totally LOVE them instead
Of course giving more options (including the old icon set) it the best course of action. _________________ SamFlex Complete 800Mhz System + AmigaOS 4.1 Update 4 Amiga 2000 DKB 2MB ChipRam GVP G-Force040 Picasso 2 OS3.9 BB2 AmigaCD 32 |

Anyway, I'll repairt it by installing MOS & getting rid of OSX (forever). |
Just use your multitouch pad if you are have a MacBook or simply open "view option" in any finder window.... not that hard. If you like more cmd-j.

| @diegocr Icon Scaling is certainly not an original idea. Even Ambient has it since years, by the way (with the same minimum/maximum size concept).
The "problem" with icon scaling is if you want to keep the free icon layout with snapshot icons coordinates. For example, if you scale up icons, you'd have relayout the view accordingly to scale factor, else everything overlaps and so on.

The new iconset have icons which are bigger than the current one. The size of the icons on the screenshot don't depend on the screenmode use, as I'm comparing the size of the icons compared to the size of the Workbench in the grab, I see that there is less space for icons compared to my desktop. Some people have expressed similar thoughts in this thread.
Anyway, with the new scaling option this shouldn't be a problem anymore.

| @Varthall I just saw the new Amiwest video on 4.1.1 and they shown the scaling feature there (in the example they scale them down to tiny size, which gives much space, and they look superb at any scale factor . Also having independent scaling for the Desktop and Drawers is pretty neat)

Hey Samo tell us more things about new features of this update. And thank you for this preview. |
A lot of people complain about the new iconset maded by Mason for the upcoming 4.1.1 update, not because they aren't like them as painted but because this iconsets was too big for using on lowest WB resolution, so recently our italian developer Massimo Tantignone add this new and very usefull feature _________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

| So now we'll have PNG, OS4, OS4.1.1, NewIcons, GlowIcons, SVG, and god forbit MagicIcons all crammed together in one AmigaHD install..... sigh..... UNITY !!!!
Also are these the icons to stay or will we again have other icons with 4.2 and so on ??
I wonder.... Some coders include simple or just plain ugly icons, or none at all with their programs, would -who made those 4.1.1 icons ?- he be willing and able to make custum icons on request from those coders to go with their apps ?
BTW, I realy like those new ones

Looks nice. All we need now are vector images and the nice new icon look applied to the windows. |

| @samo79 If there is one thing I cant stand; its all the icons the same size. It looks crap on Windows and Mac. I hope OS4 does not have fixed grid icons, scaled or not.
With OS 3xx Icons can be any size from 1 pixel to full screen looks nice too.

It's still there maybe you checked a different thread(?) anyway here it is:
http://blip.tv/file/2756479
As the guy says even that version is not the final 4.1.1 we will get in December as some new fetures/contributions/bug fixes are in order...
Still waiting to know if Massimo Tantignone's new look/style/theme will be included in the update, does anyone know?

| Nice feature. Would be nice if also amidock had scaling of icons. I use amistart instead of amidock and it has scaling that is really good. |
