This situation Really makes me disappointed in A-Eon.

Doesn't everyone know about the Osborne Effect ?

@winnetcom

I bet you and everyone would be dissapointed no matter what they would say. If nothing was said before the end of 09,there would be crying. They did that,and we we're told that it would be ready before the summer. And they told why they made the riddles. But then again,people start wining like little girls.

@Antique

Not exactly true (well the part about Amiga people love whining maybe... )..

Best course of action:
- New Years Riddle... (That part was awesome)
but then:
- 5 days later a well designed professional looking website going online instead of 6.html .
- a few snippets of info once in a week.

Result: Everybody happy...Nobody whining.

Can't be that difficult, is it?

It's hard to understand, why they were able to do that well thought out new years puzzle, and then wer not able to follow up with some selected tidbits of information now and then.

@steril606

As little as a contact address for a-eon would have helped.

One of the owners?? of A-Eon said we would hear more in a couple of days. And nothing since then. Obviously things are not going as planned. Are we supposed to think this is for the better?

Would have been better just to know MAP is in progress.

@steril606

I'm no pr guy. I'm just a deadly worker.

But i've had the info i need for now. I've started saving up money for the new machine allready.

But some seem to cry out the loudest. And i bet those people won't even buy it when it comes. Even if they'd got it for free.

A little homepage would be nice yes. But i can wait.

Btw,they infact said it was made cos of people expecting news before end of 09.

@winnetcom

I know about the Osborne effect,but it is a difference here, Osborne announced a new product more than a year before it should be delivered,and this is not the case here(hopefully)

This is Amiga land. Even if the X1000 would be x86 + PPC + 68k and triple boot AROS, Morphos and AmigaOS and be given out for free, people would still find something to whine about. ;)

Well, off course you are right. But in the case described above they would have no right to...

If people didn't "whine", it would either mean that the product is perfect (I don't think it's possible) or that they don't care about it...

Now if people started to see improvements in why people "whine", it would be something new.

This was in full collaboration with Hyperion and there should be a joint announcement of the project from A-Eon and Hyperion within the next few days and we'll get a simple website up at the A-Eon address to replace the puzzle pages in time for that

Another week, still not a word.

@Leo

Or it just means that some are just trolling. And people compaint even though they're not interested in buying such a thing in the first place.

@zerohero

To put you out of your misery and I hope Trevor D. forgives me for this indiscretion, but he is actually on a expedition to Antartica since a few weeks by boat.

We have sporadic e-mail contact when possible but posting on fora is clearly not something he is going to do.

People wouldn't bother to complain if they didn't care at least a little... I don't care complaining in a Linux forum that it's slow,... because I'm not interested.

Sounds extremely harsh, don't you think?

Then why did he say there should be a joint statement and a new website in a few days? It's not like an expedition to Antarctica is something you just plan overnight. I'm not asking for a complete computer here, not even the specs for it. I'm just asking for what he said would happen.
