It depends where you are, it is not yet summer in the northern hemisphere but it will be for the antipodeans amongst us.

I am not sure though whether this time would be regarded as summer 2010 or summer 2009 as midsummer would be 21st Dec 2009 this time round.

Next we will see polls voting about the odds of if Hyperion can do hardware faster than port an OS. "Will Hyperion release the X1000 hardware faster than it took for them to port OS4 to PPC?" Anyone is free to use that as a poll if they like. Hehe.

One of my favourite bands of all time.

Maybe that could be the new X1000 logo as YES did do a song called "Going for the One", as in Amiga One naturally

So it is summer in LONDON is it?

Trevor Dickinson is from LONDON

I hate going against my own kind, But please dont make false statements, when you know a-eon is infact initiated by Trevor D who lives in a world where it is not summer yet.

@BillE

I know it depends where you are,but since Hyperion is a Belgian company,and A-Eon is British(afaik) I would asume they meant summer in those countries. That would be logical to me. They could however stated a more precise timeline,so we could avoid all this confusion.

Yes, the image of the lone engineer fighting single handedly against the design drawing. The eccentric inventor with the trusty dog by his side; Wallace and Grommit, Jay Miner (odd one out, he's a Yankee ), Mick Timker,A-EON etc. It's hard not to think of these stereotypes as British I know

Honestly, dude, let it go.
You completely lost any cred you had here over the last days here for me (and I guess for a lot of others around here as well)..

@AmigaHeretic

By wikipedias modern definition x1000 is not vaporware. By the old definition it would be, but so would just about every product that has ever been announced to the public.

Here is the older def. Quote:
Another, slightly different older usage of the term is to denote any product that is announced, for marketing reasons, in early development or before its development, regardless of its prospects

@AmigaHeretic

I think you are making yourself look like an ...

Read the following taken from Misleading

Quote:
Deception, beguilement, deceit, bluff, mystification, and subterfuge are acts to propagate beliefs that are not true, or not the whole truth (as in half-truths or omission). Deception can involve dissimulation, propaganda, sleight of hand. It can employ distraction, camouflage or concealment. There is also self-deception.

Why do you bother trying to spread half truths such as that the:
-completion date is not known (it is stated to be before the summer)
-the feature set is not known... it has been given, the only thing missing is the actual brand of the CPU, hey, big deal...
-the feasibility - what has the price got to do with if the developement of the x1000 is feasible or not?

I read the wiki definition of Troll and I think to why do I even bother to respond when I simpy could DNFTT

@AmigaHeretic

No sir, it doesn't hold. Neither does.

Schedule: still on.
Specs: announced.
Price: suggested.

And also:

OS4: confirmed.

So according your definition now, X1000 is vapourware in the same sense that iPad is.

Please try not to be distracted by other Amiga projects' fatality. It really doesn't always have to be the same. Just wait until the end of Summer with those kind of polls for the sake!

DD
