If someone will pay me a full time developer salary, i'll quit my day job and work full time on AmigaOS4.x. Would never happen, though.

Neither do I. I like the idea of simply trading money once for a product. I bet Hyperion would sell a lot more copies of Amiga OS 4 if someone would come out with a sub 200 dollar board. Not knocking the A1X1K, it will make a nice trophy machine for those who can afford it.

@opi

You should have let them try your Amiga OS4.x system as well, and maybe AROS if you had it, to see their reaction of those fr fun.

Im sure you would have been amused even more.

@koft

Agreed, I usually prefer a hard copy of a purchased product, makes me feel like I have actually bought smething, versus something electronic file natured.

Cheers

P.S. The more expensive it is, the less I would buy something tht is not in hard copy format.

Oh I don't know. Maybe get it running on some hardware I can actually afford to spend on a hobby system.

@Hans

As you said, the best way for people to finance AmigaOS 4.x development is by buying AmigaOS 4.x or one of the Hyperion games.

As I watched non-geeks using my computers (Linux, Windows, OS X) they never seem to care much about OS.

Same experience with my office computer and Debian. Some even asked me to install them that nice new windows version in their computer

I also remember one time when OpenOffice was installed in some computers under windows to see how it worked. Everybody was happy with their new msoffice, until I opened my mouth and told it was OO.org. Suddenly, nobody was able to get the work done and demanding to have msoffice installed back
