@DrZarkov

That's the problem with those unpaid spare time jobs/projects...

@persia
Do you think it's bluetooth?

Good initiative but personally I find it a bit too colourful.

Yeah its a nice mouse admittedly.

Things that are obvious to me; the liquid is an extra feature so costs extra, the shape is bespoke so will cost extra too.

Other options are:

Wireless or Cabled
Customisable colour for left/right mouse buttons

What sort of demand would there actually be for a PS/2 version? Probably not that many.

To compare with the official mouse which is quite basic in design has a single what appears to be a moulded logo in the centre will be available on a whole range of mice and available in much lower quantities as they don't necessarily have to be sourced direct from China and consequently if they sell well and run out of stock they won't have to wait 3/4 weeks for a fresh batch. Where as the liquid mouse is fairly bespoke in-design and WILL command a higher minimum order quantity.

A buyer should expect to buy a bog-standard branded mouse with quantities beginning at 250no.

I know what it is now, a Aqua Mouse
http://www.made-in-china.com/products-search/hot-china-products/Aqua_Mouse.html

just wondering however, like i posted in the T-Shirt thread is Hyperion and Amiga Inc ok with the community making Amiga branded products? Because this might be even more a bit funny as A-eon and Ami-kit have only just launched there own official AmigaONE mouse and might hurt sale of that.

And as usual someone from another camp has to spoil the fun.. I guess not happy that mouse wheel does not work on your belowed AROS?

@djrikki

As they already had an order with liquid and boingball, I guess they already know the final prise +/- some currency fluctuations...
So, the 15EUR are calculated with all the gimmicks.

But I think I'd like a blue version (with red BB of course) more and more.

Mario

More details:

1.) There will be no wireless version, as this would mean another order from China, which makes it too difficult and of course more expensive.

2.) The mouse has a USB-connector, which will be fine for most. The mouse will work with an USB to PS/2 adaptor (as I use it on my Pegasos II), the adaptor is not included.

3.) The mouse is tested also with classic Amigas, it will work with MUI-software which supports a mouse-wheel. (With other software the mouse will work like a normal Amiga mouse without wheel.) Of course you need an active adaptor for PS/2 or USB mice at the Amiga like Topolino, Micromys, the Peter Sieg circuit, Subway, etc. There will be of course no version for the classic 9-pin Amiga mouse connector!

@amigang

I don't think it can hurt their sales. The "AmigaOne" mouse fits a lot better with the "AmigaOne" keyboard and black hardware in general.

I can't speak for what other people will do, all I know is I want both.
A funny mouse for my A1 to replace my old mouse plus one for my collection, and two "AmigaOne" mices, one for my X1000 and one for my collection.

I have to use a different mouse for my A1 as I can't have two identical mices on a single mousepad or I'd keep grabbing the wrong one and think the computer froze

Besides, the official "AmigaOne" mouse isn't even available yet so in the mean time we'd still be buying other mices if it weren't the Aqua mouse.

@DrZarkov

I certainly hope you have a trademark license to both the "Amiga" and "Boingball" trademarks.

Otherwise you will have the Amiga lawyers going after you and your business partner.

And yes, they are still very active indeed. Just ask Cloanto.

The product from AmigaKit has a valid license, this product does not unless you can persuade me otherwise.

IMPORTANT!!!

This mouse is not made by me, it is not even imported by me. I just offered to handle the shipping inside this forum, because many people has asked me.

As the whole thing became much bigger than expected, I cancel my offer to help distributing this mouse. It is and was a private action at the German www.a1k.org forum, and it will stay there, closed, only open to members. If the responsible people there will continue with the import of the mice, I don't know. I will keep away from it.

So, sorry, no mice.

To bad community actions like this get shut down, this is what we get for sticking with the Amiga for 20+ years

Thanks! (for nothing), hope whoever company owns Amiga trademark gets liquidated and shut down so "Amiga" falls into community hands.

@djrikki

What do you mean by that?

This is as pathetic as when the a1k dudes burned their own 3.9 roms and Amiga sent the police for them or something, google amiga.org for the story.

I certainly hope you have a trademark license for the "Amiga" word used on your avatar.

Otherwise you will have the Amiga lawyers going after you and anyone looking at your avatar.

And yes, they are still very active indeed. Just ask my Female friend from Spain.

Funny but AMIGA was an german democratic republic music lable until the fall of the wall, so who cares about that, when someone uses a record lable like that from something which does not exist anymore. It is a totaly different industry part, so no licence or whatever needed, it is just nostalgic, perhabs he likes old music who knows ;)

The trademark in my Avatar is not owned by Amiga, Inc., but it was a record-brand in the GDR. The label sais "VEB", which means "Volkseigener Betrieb" (people's owned factory), so it was a kind of open source. Not everything was bad in the GDR...
