@PR

If you're asking about the next update, you should know the answer to that by now.

@PR

Update 2 is last one. Since some new features are presented with EP460/x1000 demos, next at least small update is reasonable to expect until this new year (or Xmas?)

@PR

I'm with you on this one I own MorphOS also and they have pumped out to updates with equally as many updates for OWB I feel like AmigaOS 4.x is getting left behind

I hope the next update comes with a bit more of a cosmetic update but I guess that would be asking to much. As much as I like the under the hood updates it kind of bums me out when you do an update but it all feels like nothing has changed.

Rumor is when OS4.1 for classic is released.

Nobody likes to wait, but OS4.1 has more systems to support while MorphOS has only 1, as far as I know. It takes longer to get all the versions ready at the same time.

But AmiDock already supports sub-docks, which seems to me the main new feature in MorpOS 2.7

And MorpHoS 2.7 still isn´t running on a G5, right?

Well I don´t think much of clock-driven development. It only encourages you to just do the superficial, easy stuff while neglecting the core components. Ship your updates when they are ready. No need to hurry the developpers, they are already working overtime.

Comparing MorphOS, AROS and AmigaOS is always unfair to some extend. In the case of AmigaOS you have to take into account that they have two new boards (SAM460 and Nemo) to develop for.

The G5 however, has been out for years and there is plenty of material was written about those Macs, so I expect the MorphOS team to have it done long before the X1000 ships (which presumably is in summer 2011). And if that makes you think the Mac to be superior to the SAM, or MorphOS to AmigaOS - better don´t brag about it as the next Windows update and hardware will come out next Tuesday and will have many features you don´t even know about and will run UAE even faster.

Intresting but no answers;)

What about a BenQ G2222HDL 21,5"LED DVI 5MS Full HD to an Amiga second display. 159e. picked up. 135e. but postage in another place.

Let's play Deluxe Galaga again if it has Scart?

Hoping really that the next OS4 comes with Timberwolf and printing to the eg. Colour LaserJet 2600n.

Hoping.

Does the current MorphOS version support them all? I don't follow MorphOS development.

There are different versions of OS4 to support the SAM440, A1, Peg2, classics, & soon, x1000 & SAM460.

Nice try, complete fail

The new panel system is not part of 2.7 (there is hope it might get included with 2.8), and it will surely be more then just adding a few subdocks....

@sundown

Sure 2.7 supports all of them.

Why Hyperion feels the need to have seperate distro for what should be 90% identical puzzles me.

Only the kernel-files and some specific HW-dirivers need to be different and there is no reason why these couldn't coexist on the some CD (correctly named ofcourse).

Common mistake of some users. OS4 has only one install CD (at least since 4.1u1) for A1/SAM/Pegasos 2. Release for Classic Amiga may change this (or not).

Where can one buy this combined version of OS4.1 valid for A1/SAM/Peg2?

Both my OS4.1 and OS3.9 setups print happily to my Color LaserJet 1514n, so it should be able to print to any other Color Laserjet as well...

Another one: For me as a Pegasos II user the last updates to MorphOS (2.6, 2.7) weren't that fundamental - not more than any AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1/Update 2 step. So please don't measure those OS updates merely to their different versioning schemes. MorphOS 2.6 could have been MorphOS 2.5.1 Of course the revision "jump" in the MorphOS updates is mainly due to more supported Macintosh hardware, nothing wrong with that, but feature wise there's not much difference between 2.5, 2.6, 2.7.

You can only buy original OS4.1 for respective platform, but the OS4.1u1 .iso file is the same for them all (A1/SAM/Pegasos 2).
