Very nice...it's good to see some people having some positive thought about the amiga these days.

Hey, Rick. Thanks. That was my whole idea with writing the original essay on Amiga.org. I had just spent two very negative days debating the merits of the CUSA approach in one of those out-of-control threads when I decided to heck with that. I'd rather write about how much enjoyment I'm having with the stuff.
And I really don't mean to take side swipes at MorphOS or AROS on my way to praising AOS. There are good and bad points about each one. I'm just pointing out why I prefer one over the other two, but if suddenly two of the three disappeared I'd embrace the third one.
I made a slight change to the MorphOS passage to clarify my thinking. Also added a favicon (boing!). I figured out how to disguise my e-mail behind a veil of Javascript, but I'll have to actually make that effort later. Until then, I'll be at the mercy of the spambots.
This site will be built almost like a print periodical with a "Page 2" coming next. Some of the existing content will get moved off the "front page" as new stuff warrants placement there. Some content will be updated as warranted and some deleted or archived as it becomes out of date. Not quite a blog, not quite a newsletter, not quite a conventional website... but sort of a combination of these things. I may not be explaining it well and some may think this is an odd way to organize a site, but I've got it imagined in my head.
I'd also like to produce some videos to be hosted on YouTube, but I worry what they would look like embedded on the site when looked at on one of our browsers. Something to ponder..._________________

Perhaps I'll delete AmigaOS.net and make it plain text with zero CSS to give it that authentic feel just for Hondo. |
No need to be dramatic about this djrikki. All I talk about is GREAT DESIGN which AOS deserves, I never meant to rain on your parade or anything else. Your site is EXPLOSIVELY FULL OF CONTENT and just deserves a good design, nothing else.
But you two guys should work together, and when your site looks like a million and is full of great content, you should hand it over to Hyperion.
Edit: or better yet, make it a community driven effort! yihaaLast edited by Hondo on 03-Mar-2011 at 08:07 AM.

It seemed to be faster, even with a fast network. If you where already on a WWW page you will have most items in your browser cache, making it difficult to tell if it is faster now.
If you want to do yourself a favour, change the way you posted your EMail address: Something like m!ke@thevideojunkie.com will present you adress to every robot searching for spam victims.
You can display your Email address with a picture or by Java script, here is a description: http://joemaller.com/js-mailer.shtml

| @mbrantley Very nice page/site!
P.S. That new Thermaltake case for your Sam440 looks good. And maybe just the ticket for a Sam460? _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |
