That quite funny really considering various images and the workbench trademarks where used on their site before they got permission, and if I remember correctly before they got the Amiga name they where going to cheekyly name a product Amigo, so just change one letter and you should be fine :P

Or better yet, maybe you should contact IContain after all they asked the Amiga community how best to approach us freaks err I mean geeks so I say it would go along way at raise their profile and good will towards the community if they allowed community projects like this to have use of the Amiga name.

Any way good look, just wish you where doing more the A1200 design then I might have been more interested.

That might come too, it depends on how well the X500 does. That is what I usually do, make some money and put it in a new project.

Nice work, looks nice, and aluminum should be good martial to transferee heat, I look to see how you managed to angel the PCI express and PCI 66Mhz port.

I don't generally like this type of computer case because I don't think this is piratical.

If you ask nicely maybe he'll silk screen some skull and crossbones onto the Super keys for you.

Would that make it "piratical" enough?

@everyone

I am receiving emails about the price, but I still haven't had time to sit down and use the calculator...

What kind of price would you like to pay?

Please consider this:

-Complete aluminium body (please have a look at Lian li's stuff)
-possible Fractal Design silent fan(s)
-DVD-RW
-Feet
-All the switches and cables
-Two side USB ports and Audio (headphones/mic)
-DVD and HD brackets
-All the cables and LEDS
-All the screws
-Full size, low profile keyboard (possible silk screening of the A and possible localisation)
-Lots of time, money and passion spent on it!
-The spiritual successor of the wedge design

Can X500 be considered a keyboard computer if it doesn't ship with a motherboard?

>>Good question Rob, I think I made it clear that is a computer case with inbuilt keyboard...so I think you have pretty much nailed it. Nice one!

PS: Why on earth my thread always ends up under a CUSA's one!

??? Are you asking us ; )
Interesting stuff! You should do the math.
Material should be easy. The question is how much will be an work-hour and how much time do you need? Than there could be a bonus for being limited. But than it has to be limited to a number ; )

@phoenixkonsole

Hi,

>> Are you asking us ; )
Interesting stuff! You should do the math.

Of course, it's always a good thing to do a bit of market research. One thing is a product being priced at £600 and one thing is being priced at £200.

>>Material should be easy.
>>The question is how much will be an work-hour and how much time do you need? Than there could be a bonus for being limited. But than it has to be limited to a number ; )

That is the difficult bit, as I have said on another forum, I won't get my 4+ years of time and money back, not even if I sold hundreds and hundreds so why am I doing it?

Because I love it, I love the Amiga and I like the fact that people who always wanted something like this and a versatile version (you can expand it) can now have one.

Aluminium cases can be really expensive more expensive than steel and plastic and if you know the products from Lian Li and Antec then you know what I am talking about.

It was just to have an idea
