Not a clue. The way prices change today I could not even guess at a fair price.
P.S. Reminds me of the Bodega Bay, except in reverse. Last edited by Mechanic on 07-May-2011 at 09:16 PM.

I made one in steel...and it weighed more than 6kg!
Too heavy to use, too heavy to post!

I would have thought the price would be somewhere around the price of a case plus a keyboard _________________ 1 AmigaOne G4XE (OS4 Pre-Release Update4) Minimig Sam440ep + OS4.1FE Sam460cr + OS4.1FE |

Hmmm... I once bought me the case of an A3000 Tower and in all wisdom available at that time I reckoned I could go to the other end of the Netherlands by train and get the thing home like that.... I felt stupid afterwards That case weighed like a 1000 kg. At least, by the end of the trip home. _________________ Back home... |

I think you might be right...
Thinking about it, I need to add:
LEDs Cables LED covers DVD-RW Power switch Stainless steel Reset Switch HD and DVD drives brackets
Time and development
So anything between £0 and £1,000,000!

You are right, when I first thought "yeah, steel will be fine..." never realised it was going to be that heavy until I collected.

Could you sell it without the DVD drive? Just brackets to install the DVD drive I have _________________ 1 AmigaOne G4XE (OS4 Pre-Release Update4) Minimig Sam440ep + OS4.1FE Sam460cr + OS4.1FE |

Nice to see another community project and first Amiga like case to appear before CUSAs promise, too.
200e is way too much for a case, at least in East Europe. If it can come empty for 100euros, that would be OK (which is exactly my estimation how much CUSA rips you off just for the case).
Some less cubicle A1200 design, like Amiga dream design CUSA has been abusing some time, would be preferable.
So, in short, no thanks, but I am glad for it and I hope it will find many customers. _________________ Future Acube and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionals. Learn it harder way! |

I am not sure, I'll check, it's basically so that I know it fits and it works.

Please do so...as you say the more the better, I am trying to reach at least 20 units.
People might want to build themselves a pc running Win/Linux or an emulated retro machine or get a SAM with OS4.1 so the more publicity the better.
It would be a shame not to see it happening.

What kind of price would you like to pay? |
While some people here seem to have no idea that non-mass-produced things are unavoidably expensive compared to stuff mass-produced in China (see naive complaints about Sam440/etc price), my feeling is it should cost somewhere between £100 and £200. £200 would be a bit too expensive IMHO, while I think £100 would be a bargin for such a custom case. But as I don't plan to buy one, you can ignore my feelings if you want!Last edited by ChrisH on 09-May-2011 at 09:09 PM.

With a bit of luck, the last prototype in black should be with us next week.
Minor changes (a few air vents on the top and sides) slightly reduction in length, so to keep it within the A500 dimensions and improved keyboard slope.
When it's ready it might help posting the news to as many websites as possible, maybe even The Guardian, The New York Times, la Repubblica or the BBC...

I see what you mean, I have decided to drop the idea of including the picoPSU and leave it to the user, so at least they can get the one with the right plug for their country!

Thank you for the suggestions Chris.

Interesting.
Hopefully you can put a lot more in the X500.
Still working on it...
