@Fab

Ok, so "Fab's uses ffmpeg for this AFAIK..." was a very, very shortend version of what you did in real... Thanks for clearing this up...

I have sadly no idea if that is even possible with the Sam. Hopefully someone here will know...

It shouldn't be that hard to modify Hyperclock to work from user-startup. They could just add the ability to save a speed prefs file from the GUI and add a shell mode of operation that would read an argument like "SETSPEED" and set the system to the prefs speed with a reset afterwards. After it resets the Hyperclock utility could compare the current speed with the one in prefs and just exit quietly if they are the same. By the way I am typing this post with SAM Flex set to 733 MHz and using MUI-OWB. So far it seems to be working at this speed too. At 800 Mhz I would not be able to complete this post and you wouldn't be seeing it now.

Yeah that is a workaround that could work if you dont mind the extra warm reboot.

This kinda makes me wonder though... how many other users are experiencing stability issues because of cpu being overclocked by default?

@bennymee

For now all things related to the video section are not implemented yet into the actual MUI OWB for OS4, this isn't a secret or whatelse it was just planned as is for the first version

Next and immediate plane is only to fix the remaining bugs discovered, then if all goes well our devs will start with HTML5 video support, merging with latest version and so on ..

Just be patience, this is a big project

I am too getting this! I didn't before but all of a sudden I get tiny font when I choose options within muiowb or if I select Settings>Preferences.

Everything is there but it's a tiny font that is almost unreadable, and it's only just happened and wasn't like that before!

Heheh, well i hope it would be 2 real weeks, not two weeks in Amiga style

Aniway for now the main problems are the new "strange behaviour" introduced by the latest MUI 3.9, if our devs are availible to fix all of them quickly then they can start to look at the remaining big part (HTML5 videos, Threading support, various cosmetic thngs, merging with 1.14 and so so on)

But for now it's just the bug problems, still usable of course but not perfect in any part so need to be fixed before replacing Reaction OWB at 100%

@Chris_Y

2 more week given halv an hour a day on average would probably give a good Amiga-like 2 more weeks estimate

Let's see. Counting 8 hours a day, 5 days a week then gives: 80h -> 160days. So more like 5 months then :) A normal Amiga-like 2 more weeks.

Or being a bit more brutal, counting 24hours a day, 7 days a week: 4 years, hehe. Ok I think we can be finished a bit quicker than 4 years I sure hope!

@Tomas
There was a discussion at the Hyperion forums (Kernel 53.22 problem with SamFlex) where at least 2 other SAM Flex users had the same problem but claim to have solved the problem by adding more fans to their systems. I would rather operate my system within stable parameters without supplemental cooling. Apparently, there is enough variation in the SAM CPU chips that some are more sensitive to overclocking than others. It seems to me that it should be possible to update UBOOT to set the clocking speed by changing a UBOOT variable. For safety sake it should probably only work to reduce the builtin clock speed.
An alternative could be to change HyperClock to be able to save the current speed to prefs and add an AmigaDOS (shell) argument (SETSPEED) that would set the speed and reboot when it's called from startup sequence. That would eliminate the need to start Hyperclock, change the settings and let it reset the system. The saved speed would be more or less guaranteed to work since the system would have to be working in order to open the GUI and save the prefs.

+1 scrolling in RAOWB seems to be more or less the same here too.

You think?
Maybe it's my memory that serves me wrong then but I feel IBrowse speeds in scrolling on some pages and I really can't remember ever feeling that before update3 with RA-OWB. I thing I use 1.31 (or 3.31 or whatever).

But then again, I've pretty much only been using MUI-OWB for the past 2 months and I seem to recall it being on average faster but not everywhere...

I can confirm that RAOWB get a really huge scroll speedup after Update3 was relased!
Dunno why but that was...

AmigaWorld now scrolls really well!!!!!! (no scattering if you dont scroll it too fast)

So something have to be changed in the linked libs or maybe was only due the new 2D optimisations...maybe some system call faster than before?

@Xenic

That’s good.
OS4.1 update 3 is more optimized, using the CPU more efficient, the result is heat, best thing is do add cooling; ACube did not test system whit update 3 when they were designed.

Also if you overclock you get same problems, but then it’s a user error.

@all

1. The verry small fonts that appeared sometime with MUI-OWB us caused by MUI-OWB requesters with too long lines.

The error could came from a no limited line for a requester on the sourcecode or because the internet site by itself don't limit the longer of the line for the requester.

2. MUI-OWB crash with Webcore errors sometime. I have this error when loading a mediafire page. During the redraw, the DSI came. Use Ignore DSI and MUI-OWB restart fine.

Mybe this error will be resolved by itself with upate for a more advanced MUI-OWB version later.

Just to said that Ignore DSI work sometime with MUI-OWB.

I Have just enabled the default Gui prefs for window transparency (0,10,35) and things seem faster in all browsers.

If that fixed/changed in latest morphos's versions, then it will be fixed, if not, then not.

If you can reproduce the problem, write bug-report on the mui-owb bug-tracker. Only bugs which are reported on the bug-tracker have a luck to be fixed.

Those ones which reproducable can be helpfull, but those ones which are not, or which are related to "crash on some site" mostly related to webkit itself, so will be (or will not) automatically fixed in next versions when we will merge with latest fab's code.

@ALL

A quick question, do the developers need to know if there are sites people can get on with other browsers that you can't reach with MUI-OWB?

If so, Google+ is one of them, can reach via OWB 3.32 but not NUI-OWB

Lloyds TSb online banking and Halfax online banking sites. Both use the same login templates and log you out before you can enter the second stage of login details.

Both sites work in IBrowse and Netsurf but not OWB nor the reaction based version.

In general I am fairly happy with the current OWB release, just the odd glitch here and there. I still have a problem with fonts for example Arial displays all jumbled up text and I tried changing fonts and what not in the preferences, but the problem would not go away. As for the downloading problem (which I've never seen myself), if I want software I use the Appstore in Jack.
