@Dandy

Yeah a Paula emulator really. Not to be confused with the OS4 audio.device that redirects to AHI. Many have.

It may have started out on Amithlon as that didn't emulate Amiga hardware. But was useful for Amigas with broken Paulas but a working sound card.

The OS4 version was never developed enough. I experimented with the code, when I tested it with Payback PPC on OS4 as that doesn't have sound due to hardware banging. But in the end it just kept crashing and I went back to the Mac Payback demo which worked better on iBook.

Uh, not at all. It was written by Martin Blom for redirecting stuff to AHI on real Amigas with MMUs.

Martin made it open source, and 10 years ago, just before the final ISO of Amithlon was meant to be assembled, I was waiting (impatiently...) for Harald to get a promised component update to me. Seeing as I had finished everything on my end, I had a few hours, so I took Martin's excellent work and hacked it as a lovely, open source demonstration of various of Amithlon's more nifty mechanisms (e.g. the SetPatch-like ability to hook into the emulation code all over the place, and the x8668kx86 mode switching).

Martin called his original "NallePuh", which is Winnie The Pooh in Swedish. To avoid confusion, I used "PuhDerBaer" for the Amithlon version --- same name, just in German.

If the OS4.0 version (available on Aminet) is definitely based on Martin's version. So no Amithlon involvement at all.

(BTW, the OS4.0 version is NallePuh_OS4.lha. I doubt the 68k version (NallePuh.lha) ever worked on OS4.

It may have not then.

Yes I remember that. But that just confuses things, why? I never saw the reaoson to redirect perfectly working Paula hardware to AHI. Unless something's broken it wouldn't benefit sending two channel stereo hardware mixed 8-bit audio to a 16-bit one channel device that needed to be softmixed.

And if your AHI was set to Paula completely useless!

Yes I remenber that one. But still comparing Poo to Paula is still a stretch.

Never tried. But it would use mmu.library or instructions which would definitely not work. OS4 version used common SetIntVector() hack.
